Geo-targeted proxies for localized scraping - numbers?

tbh need to scrape listings from like 20 different city sites (think craigslist style). each site blocks non-local ips. my current residential pool gets me a conv rate of maybe 15% before bans kick in, which is sus. so im looking at integrating with puppeteer-stealth (or maybe undetected-chrome-driver) but need proxy API that can give me clean IPs for specific zip codes (or at least accurate city-level geo). anyone got hard data on this? like success rates and cost per successful session? tired of vague answers.

I've tried similar setups and honestly, even with geo-specific proxies, success rate is more about how you manage the session than just IPs, lol. costs can get crazy quick if you're not careful with quality providers.

Spot on. imo, even with geo proxies, if your session mgR isn't solid, you're still gonna get banned eventually. sometimes rotating IPs fast enough and cleaning cookies/session data between runs helps a lot. ymmv tho

different angle: I once bought a bunch of proxies from a provider claiming high numbers, but half of em got flagged or slow as hell. ended up just using fewer, better quality ones and got way better results. numbers ain't everything.

Careful with just chasing numbers, though. How do you test if those proxies actually stay localized or if they're just rerouted? ymmv but I've found it's more about how you verify the proxies work than just grabbing a big pool.

been doing this 3 years, numbers matter but quality > qty. like, 100 good proxies beat 1000 trash ones. seen some ppl waste $ on 2000 proxies and only get 5% working well.

Like, I'd say at least 80% of the proxies I've bought claimed to be local but weren't. the only way I found to test is to do a quick geo check using a simple IP lookup tool, then compare the results to the city or region you're targeting. if it's rerouted, you'll see the location pop up somewhere else or just a different country. no point wasting time on proxies that aren't actually localized.
