so ive been trying wireguard on my phone and yeah my battery's definitely dying quicker. idk if its wireguard itself or just my ancient battery but its annoying af. anyone else get major drain with it? i like having it on for privacy but i dont wanna charge my phone like 3 times a day lol.

I don't think wireguard is the main cause, it's probably ur phone struggling with old hardware. u might wanna turn off auto-start or kill the app when not needed, that can help save some juice. also check if u have the latest version, sometimes updates improve efficiency.

last month i updated wireguard and saw a tiny difference but not much. my old phone still drains like crazy. honestly, turning off the VPN when not using it helps me a lot. no point in keeping it running all the time if you just want privacy sometimes.

Honestly, if battery is trash, maybe look into a battery saver app or even better, a lightweight VPN like Mullvad, they claim to be pretty efficient. Wireguard's fast but if your hardware's old, any VPN's gonna hit it hard. might be time for a new phone lol.

If ur battery's already shot, even the most efficient VPNs might struggle. But switching to a battery saver mode when u don't need the VPN constantly can help a lot. Also, disabling auto-connect if u don't need it 24/7 can save some juice.

careful with that idea, lmao. my old phone runs wireguard pretty smooth, honestly. maybe it's just my battery being really bad, but the vpn doesn't seem to kill it more than usual. ymmv tho, lol. stay vigilant!

2.3 billion devices, most of 'em old as dirt, still run VPNs fine. wireguard's efficient, but if ur phone's a relic, yeah, it'll drain more. maybe ur battery just really sus.

last month i had my old phone and the battery was so bad, just like u said, it drained super fast with vpn on. afaik, some phones just can't handle the extra load, no matter what vpn. ymmv, but yeah, if ur battery's dead, gonna struggle fr.

thanks for the tips fam, yeah i might try killing it when im not using it, see if that helps. the battery saver app sounds legit, lowkey gonna look into that. and lol i get what you mean, old hardware be a pain sometimes. hopefully i can find a good workaround.

bruh, I tried running WireGuard on my phone during a long trip and honestly didn't notice much battery drain at all. like, maybe a couple percent after hours. it's surprisingly lightweight for what it does.

careful with assuming it kills ur battery tho, i ran WireGuard on my old phone for a whole day once and barely saw any drain, like 1-2 percent max. so yeah, it's pretty light.

Like, I ran it for a whole day once and only saw maybe 1-2 percent drain max, so it's not really a battery hog if your phone isn't constantly pinging or doing heavy loads.

if you wanna minimize battery impact, try disabling auto-connect or killing it when not in use. in my experience, it can still drain a bit if the device is constantly trying to reconnect or if you're on weak signals. not as lightweight as some say.

bruh, honestly it's pretty light unless ur phone is doing a ton of background stuff. like I ran it all day once and barely saw a difference, lol. but yeah, turn off auto-connect if u wanna save more juice.
