man so im lookin at this setup stuff. got my vpn sub and it all works fine on my pc with the app. but everyone keeps talkin about putting it on ur router too. that seems like a pain tbh. whats the real point? is it just for gadgets that cant run an app like a smart tv or whatever? or does it actually make ur connection more stable or something if u put it on the router instead of each device? idk im really stuck here
 
just my 2 cents, using a vpn on the router can save you the hassle of setting it up on each device and might give you more consistent coverage. but do you actually notice much difference in speed or stability when it's on the router? or are you mainly worried about compatibility?
 
80% of my clients just want simple, no fuss, covers everything fam. compatibility is def a thing but mostly it's about ease and consistency, so yeah, router VPN is smoother for most.
 
lol, yeah, pretty much, I got my smart fridge that refuses to run apps but loves VPNs now. router VPN makes everything chill w/o me messing with each device. ngl, it's a vibe
 
My take is, you might think it's just for gadgets that can't run apps but honestly, I've seen cases where routing VPNs actually improve stability for streaming and gaming since everything gets a consistent connection. but I disagree that it's just about fuss-free setup, sometimes it actually boosts your whole network's performance if your ISP's connection is flaky. ymmv tho.

yeah, this. in my experience, routing VPNs on the router helps keep things stable, especially if u got multiple devices or some with weird network needs. makes life way easier than messing with each device
 
thanks for the input, guys. yeah, using a VPN on the router is just about making sure everything gets protected w/o me messing with each device. i guess for devices that can't run the app, it's kinda. and if it helps with stability, imho, that's a bonus. may give it a shot soon.

Nah, I think a VPN app is fine for most. Routers can be overkill unless you got mad gadgets or wanna block threats at network level.
