VPN for gaming - does it really cut ping or not?

Just my 2 cents, VPNs can sometimes help if your ISP routing is trash but if the VPN server is far from the game server it usually just adds latency instead of reducing it. Doesnt

actually, VPNs rarely cut ping unless ur ISP routing is absolute trash, and even then it's a gamble since the VPN server location has to be close to the game server, lol.

Thanks for chiming in, guys. Yeah, testing different servers nearby is key, but rn I think it's a gamble, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. YMMV for sure. If ur ISP routing is bad or u in a crowded area, VPN can help but not always. Just gotta test and see what works for ur setup.
