look, i set up a whole geo-targeted campaign using a vpn extension to check localized landing pages. cost me a weekend. the extension worked for like 10 checks then just stopped routing traffic, said it was connected but my server logs showed my real ip clear as day. wasted two days of tracking data. is this a known thing or did i just pick a cursed extension? the full app from the same provider works fine but it's a pain to keep switching on and off. anyone else run into this where the browser version just ghosts you? need to know if this is a common footprint before i tell my client his geo-data is junk.

Okay but listen this is the classic pain in the ass with VPN extensions and browser fingerprinting right, like sure they seem handy but the truth is most of them are half-baked or just unreliable for serious tracking especially when you start scaling up or need consistent data you can't be switching things on and off like it's some casual play and the fact that your server logs showed your real ip tells me the extension was just a dummy placeholder or got whacked by some anti-fraud algo from the provider or even worse your browser fingerprint got flagged for some reason because these free or semi-free extensions often don't play nice with anti-spam systems or fingerprint detection systems and it gets worse if you depend on just one extension or browser to do your geo testing you end up with a footprint that's easier to detect than a neon sign so yeah I'd say stop wasting your time with flaky browser tools and invest in dedicated proxy rotators or VPNs that are built for automation not just quick checks because the data tells a different story when you're talking about legit geo targeting not some half-assed browser trickery.

smh yeah it's pretty much dead on arrival, VPN extensions are hit or miss and most of them leave footprints or just stop working when you need them. imo just get a legit proxy service and stop wasting time. this kinda stuff is always a headache, better to accept it and move on.

proxy service is the way to go but not all are perfect either, you gotta test and rotate. vpn extension for geo checks is fragile at best, your logs are proof. overthinking it, just use a dedicated proxy pool, less footprint, more stability.

Look, I get it, switching on and off is a pain but honestly, relying on a VPN extension for geo checks is asking for trouble. The full app might work fine but that doesn't mean it's reliable for what you're trying to do. Extensions are fragile bro, they're designed more for quick checks not serious tracking or testing at scale.

If you want legit data, you gotta stop playing around with flaky browser stuff and get real with a dedicated proxy pool or S2S setup. The less footprint, the more stable your flow is gonna be. You wanna look professional and not waste days chasing ghosts. That extension is just a bandaid, not a solution.

I get where flex is coming from but I think that's a bit of an oversimplification, proxies are not always the magic bullet either especially when you get into larger scale stuff. VPN extensions can be flaky but they can also be useful for quick checks if you understand their limitations. I'd say it's less about ditching them entirely and more about understanding when and how to use them without relying on them for the critical tracking. you gotta treat them like a quick test tool not your main geo weapon.
