tried scraping with vpns and got caught, what's a rotating proxy?

look, i'm so lost. just tried to use my normal vpn for some product data scraping. like the sites i want info from are just online stores, nothing crazy. got blocked instantly on the first page lmao. why do they even care if i use a vpn? now people keep telling me to get 'rotating residential proxies.' i have no idea what that means or where to start. is it different from a datacenter proxy? need a provider that works right now without reading a million guides, something simple.
i'll believe it when someone gives me an actual name and not just more theory. feeling impatient and need to get this done tonight.

OP, VPNs are trash for scraping, got caught fast every time. rotating residential proxies are legit, like they change IPs constantly and look like real people. datacenter proxies?

nah bro, you're kinda missing the point. a vpn is like a bad disguise, everyone sees right through it. rotating residential proxies? those are like the chameleon of proxies, constantly changing IPs and looking legit. datacenter proxies are like a dude in a costume, easy to spot.

rotating residential proxies are legit, like they change IPs constantly and look like real people
look, I get it, rotating residential proxies sound perfect but trust me, they can be a leaky bucket too. just because they change IPs doesn't mean they're bulletproof, and if you're scraping high traffic sites, even the chameleon can get sniffed out fast. better to focus on a solid setup and not rely just on the

yeah man, i feel that. scraping is a grind, and every site seems to get smarter. a rotating residential proxy is basically like a legit person in a neighborhood that keeps moving around. they're always changing the IPs and look real enough to not get sniffed out instantly. datacenter proxies? they're kinda like wearing a mask that everyone's seen a hundred times, easy to spot. but the thing is, there's no magic bullet. the providers that work today can be toast tomorrow. names? try some big ones like bright data or oxylabs. but honestly, if you're doing this tonight, be ready to switch up strategies fast. it's a game of cat and mouse and the humans managing the back end always tweak the rules. patience, buddy. the human touch is what makes or breaks these campaigns, no matter what shiny proxy you slap on.

A VPN is just a quick fix, not meant for serious scraping. OP, the reason they care is because you're hitting their servers with repetitive traffic from the same IP. Rotating residential proxies are legit, they switch IPs often and look like real users. datacenter proxies are usually flagged quick, they don't have that 'real user' footprint. OP, if you want smth that works tonight, get a provider that offers rotating residential proxies with API access.

Look, scraping with a vpn is just asking to get caught. It's like wearing a neon sign saying hey I'm a scraper, come get me. Rotating residential proxies are the only way to stay under the radar but even then, if you push too hard you'll get sniffed out.

gg Void but really, how often do you think these proxies are actually clean and legit? I mean if they can be leaky buckets then what's the point if they get flagged after a few hits? isn't that kinda worse than just using a vpn that's easy to switch? I dunno man, seems like no matter what you use it's a game of cat and mouse, so how do you know when it's worth risking the hassle?

Rotating residential proxies are the only way
ok so real talk, compile's kinda right but also kinda wrong. yeah rotating residential proxies are better than a VPN for scraping cause they keep changing IPs and look legit.

Rotating residential proxies are legit, they switch IPs often and look like real users
but man, even then they can get flagged if you go ham or buy trash proxies. nothing is perfect, but at least it's less obvious. just gotta find a decent provider that isn't ghosted after a few hits

rotating proxies are meant to switch ip addresses constantly so you look like different users but do you really think just changing ip solves the core issue? if your scraping script is sloppy or your headers are too obvious, theyll catch you even with a dozen proxies. ever consider maybe your approach or the speed youre scraping at is the real problem?

a rotating proxy just swaps ur ip every few seconds or requests so u look like multiple different people. helps a lot with scraping without getting blocked if u use it right but still needs good headers and stuff. imo if ur script or behavior is sloppy no proxy gonna save u, u gotta keep it legit.

a rotating proxy just cycles ur ip so u dont get blocked after a few requests. but honestly, if ur headers are garbage or ur script acts obvious, it doesnt matter how many proxies u got. imo, most of u just cope with lazy setups and blame the tools. remember, google analytics is mostly worthless here, just focus on the data that actually moves the needle. try to make ur script look like a legit user, not some bot on a schedule.

But if the headers and behavior are sloppy, does it even matter if your ip is changing? seems like all those proxies are just band-aids for a bigger problem, no?

So you're saying a bunch of rotating proxies are just bandaids if your script smells like spammy sauce from a mile away, right? but then again if your headers and timing are slick, do you really need a hundred proxies or just better behavior? which is wild when you think about it.

Honestly rn, proxies are just one piece of the puzzle. if your script or behavior is sus, it doesn't matter if you got a million rotating IPs. imo, most just chase the shiny toys instead of fixing the core stuff.

Been there, bricked myself a few times trying to run too many proxies and forgetting about the basics. rotating proxies are just a way to hide ur real IP but if ur headers or timing are off, ur still toast. the money's in the behavior, not just the tools. same as always, fix the core first, then worry about the shiny toys.

dead on arrival if your behavior is trash, proxies just delay the inevitable. imo, most people get caught cause they don't fix the basics first, then chase shiny proxies. smh, it's all about the sneaky behavior not just the tech.
