Struggling with link exchanges and 3-ways, need real advice

Man, I've tried doing some link exchanges and even a few 3-way swaps lately but nothing's working. I mean I'm swapping links with legit sites, like 10-15 per month, and I get maybe 1 or 2 backlinks that actually hold weight. Most of the time the links just die after a week or two. Tried different niches, different outreach emails, nothing sticks. I've read some guys say 3-ways are dead or not worth it anymore but I see some still doing it with decent results. For me it's like, 0.5 to 1 domain authority gain max and I'm wasting time. Anyone actually pulling in decent links with this? Or should I just drop it and focus on guest posts or PBNs? I need to break this plateau, my traffic is flatlining and I don't get it. Help lol.

Most of the legit links I got came from straight-up guest posts, not swaps. If you're doing a bunch of swaps with dead links, no wonder you're wasting time. Maybe drop swaps and double down on real outreach to sites that actually update their links regularly.

careful with link exchanges, I did a bunch of them a while back and most of those links turned into dead weight fast, so I switched to guest posting and focus on high quality sites and it finally moved the needle for me.

yeah, i get ya, i've seen some folks still pulling decent links from swaps but most of it is dead weight fast. unless you're doing legit outreach with real sites, swaps are just a waste of time now. better to focus on guest posts or niche PBNs if you want some real juice.

just my 2 cents, i've done a bunch of swaps and the only ones that stuck around were with legit outreach and solid content on real sites. got burnt on dead links fast, so i shifted focus to guest posts on niche-relevant blogs and it's been way more stable. ymmv but imo swaps are dead unless you vet the hell out of the sites. how are you vetting those sites before doing the swap?

most of the time the links just die after a week or two, i remember doing a swap with some small site and they dropped the link in like 3 days lol. i think the key is legit outreach and making sure the sites are actually active and keep their links alive. one time i did a guest post on a legit site and that link stayed for months, so maybe focus more on real outreach than swaps?

Honestly, I tried dropping link swaps and went full on guest posts and PBNs, and man, the quality and longevity skyrocketed, smh.

u ever considered focusing on niche-relevant guest posts instead of link swaps? that way u build legit authority and longevity. swap links is kinda dead if ur just bouncing around random sites.

You ever think maybe the reason your links die so fast is cuz you're just swapping for the sake of swapping? quality content and real outreach still beat quick swaps and 3-ways every time. and yeah, PBNs or legit guest posts might be the only way to get that real

PBNs def can give some quick juice but long term it's about legit content and outreach. if ur just chasing quick wins with PBNs or guest posts, u might miss the real authority. gotta build with real links that stick.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Yeah I figured swaps are dead if they're with junk sites, I'm just tired of wasting time chasing dead links. Guest posts seem solid but hard to scale without dropping a fortune lol. Anyone really cracking decent links with swaps these days or just sticking to outreach?
