SOCKS5 vs HTTP Which one actually wins? Need quick advice!

I'm on a timer and need to pick the right proxy type for a project fast. Anyone got a solid read on when to use SOCKS5 versus HTTP proxies? Like, do I use SOCKS5 for more stealth and speed, or is HTTP better for compatibility and easy setup? Gotta know ASAP because I'm trying to scrape a site that's pretty aggressive with detections. Also, if anyone has a hookup on a promo or discount for good proxies, lemme know. My budget's tight but I need quality. This decision's been eating up my headspace and I don't have time to mess around. Appreciate any quick, real-world advice before I pull the trigger on a provider.

Been doing this 3 years and honestly, SOCKS5 is my go-to for scraping that's aggressive and needs stealth, but it can be a pain to set up right and might need some tweaks. HTTP proxies are easier, faster to get working but might not hide you as well if the site is super strict. If your main concern is speed and stealth, SOCKS5 wins but be ready for some fiddling. No promos I know off, but check smaller proxy shops, sometimes they have deals if you ask directly.

Honestly I think HTTP proxies are kinda overrated for sneaky scraping if the site is really strict, cause they can leak your info easier and are more detectable. SOCKS5 on the other hand, while trickier to set up, can actually give you more stealth if you tweak properly, especially with rotation and good IPs. So for aggressive detection I'd probably lean towards SOCKS5, even if it takes a bit more time to config.

Different angle: I kinda think HTTP proxies can be fine if you're just doing quick scraping and not super sneaky, especially if setup speed matters. SOCKS5 is def better for stealth but can slow you down with configs and tweaks. Are you sure you need that extra stealth or just quick results?

Honestly, I kinda think HTTP proxies can be more reliable in some cases, especially when you just need quick access w/o fuss. I mean, I've seen legit setups where HTTP proxies worked just fine on strict sites if you don't push the limits too hard. Ymmv, but sometimes the easier option can surprise you.

If you're scraping aggressive sites, don't overlook rotating residential proxies over datacenter ones, regardless of SOCKS5 or HTTP. My experience says SOCKS5 can be faster and stealthier but setup and rotation matter more in high detection scenarios. You got a good proxy provider? Or just chasing cheap proxies that might blow up?

Careful with that advice, not all aggressive sites block datacenter proxies. I had a project where datacenter proxies worked fine with some tweaks, no issues. Sometimes, residential proxies are overkill and just eat up the budget. Gotta test and see what actually sticks before pulling the trigger.

last month i tried both for some ppc stuff and honestly SOCKS5 was way faster and more stable for me, HTTP just felt laggy sometimes. depends on the use case tho but in cro SOCKS5 usually wins fr.

Been doing this 3 years and honestly SOCKS5 usually just feels snappier, especially for cpc stuff. Do you notice any difference in geo targeting or how stable it is across different networks?

honestly been doing this 3 years and honestly SOCKS5 can be faster but dont sleep on HTTP for some geo stuff it might be more reliable sometimes lol. try both in your target regions and see which actually performs better for your campaign before calling

Last month I was testing both for a client and honestly SOCKS5 just felt faster and more reliable for my use cases. HTTP kinda felt limited sometimes with the proxy options. So imo SOCKS5 wins for versatility and speed, but

I dunno man, SOCKS5 is solid but for actual stealth and security I swear I get better results with something like shadowsocks or a good VPN, ymmv though.

Haha, yeah, but HTTP can be more compatible with some apps. Sometimes SOCKS5 is just too much, ya know? Plus, HTTP proxies are easier to set up for quick stuff.

honestly, i found SOCKS5 a bit overkill sometimes too, especially for quick tasks. 2) HTTP is just more compatible and faster for basic stuff, no hassle. 3) but yeah, SOCKS5 wins when u need a lil more control or custom configs.

I think SOCKS5 actually overcomplicates things sometimes. I remember trying to set one up once and it was a mess, while HTTP was just plug and play. you ever run into a situation where SOCKS5 just totally didn't work for ya?

If you just want quick and easy, HTTP proxies are way less hassle. SOCKS5 is cool but overkill if you just need basic browsing or automation. Honestly, for most aff stuff atm, HTTP wins for speed and

You really think SOCKS5 wins? I'd say if u need speed and easy setup, HTTP is still king, especially for affiliate stuff. For me, just use HTTP unless you got a reason for SOCKS5.

"SOCKS5 vs HTTP Which one actually wins" yesss, been down that road. honestly, unless u got a specific reason for SOCKS5, HTTP proxies like Bright Data or Oxylabs are way easier and faster for affiliate stuff. SOCKS5 just overcomplicates for most use cases, fr.
