Skyscraper still works or dead in the water? need real data

Been trying the skyscraper tactic for a couple months now, data just not lining up. made a really good piece, promoted it hard, got some decent backlinks but rankings? nah. not moving. so I checked the backlinks, most are from low authority sites, some even spammy. tried to push it further with outreach, no dice. is it just me or is the skyscraper dead? does anyone got recent proof it still works? got a case study or real data showing this method still moves the needle? feels like I wasted weeks for nothing but maybe I'm missing something. really need fresh thoughts here.

Yep exactly, feels like most people just chase backlinks without understanding the real game and skyscraper is kinda dead if you only focus on spammy sites and low authority links, tf you really need is quality, relevant outreach and content that actually earns backlinks naturally - the whole thing's about value, not just stacking links.

Actually I think the skyscraper can still work if you stop chasing spam and focus on making stuff that earns backlinks naturally, not just blasting outreach. If your content is legit and targeted, even low authority sites can link if it's valuable enough. YMMV but the core still holds, just gotta do it right.

spot on, I've seen plenty of folks burn time chasing backlinks from spammy sites and wonder why their rankings stay flat, imo the core of skyscraper is still valid but only if you build real, link-worthy content and target high authority sites.

yo yeah, last month i tried skyscraper too, built a solid piece, promoted hard, backlinks from decent sites but still no rankings move. feels like unless you build real value and get legit backlinks, it's just gonna flop. sometimes I think the method still works if done right, but most ppl get lazy and chase spam. simple as that.

last month i tried same, built good content, promoted hard, backlinks from decent sites but rankings still flat. is it maybe that content quality or relevance is more important than just backlinks now? feels like the game changed.

man, sounds like we all chasing ghosts sometimes. imo, skyscraper still works if you actually get legit backlinks and not just fill the profile with spam. sometimes content and relevance still rule over just backlink volume.

yo, totally agree, quality beats quantity any day. you can build the most perfect skyscraper but if your backlinks are spammy or low quality, it's gonna tank. do you think a focus on hyper-relevant sites and actual value creation can still push rankings?

yo different angle: maybe skyscraper just isn't the silver bullet anymore, idk. like, maybe the whole game shifted and backlinks from spammy sites ain't gonna cut it no matter what. kinda makes me wonder

thanks for the feedback guys, really appreciate the real talk. yeah, I get that quality over quantity is key, but atm feels like even legit content is just not enough if the site authority is low. will try to focus more on earning backlinks naturally and building real value, see if that moves the needle. still kinda skeptical tho, so if anyone got recent wins with skyscraper, drop some proof pls.

bruh, skys still alive imo. I got decent results with retargeting old traffic, like pushing them again after a week. try that, fam.

skyscraper's still got legs, if you target cold traffic smart and retarget right. dats where most mess up. keep testing, bro.

use skys for at least 3-4 weeks, I saw stability in conversions after that. retargeting 30-60 days old traffic still pulls around 2x ROAS for me. just keep testing different

just my 2 cents, i've seen similar results too but only when the audience is warm enough, otherwise it's a slow bleed. test different time frames and creatives, don't just rely on old traffic. gotta keep that funnel fresh or it dies quick lol
