Setting up proxy rotation with Python again, kinda nostalgia

Man, remember the old days when just rotating proxies was kinda a pain but also kinda fun? Now it's like a whole science. I wanna set up a simple proxy rotation script with Python but I keep running into issues with scraping and getting flagged. Used to be just throw in some proxies and go, but now it feels way more complex. Wondering if anyone still does it the old way or if the new stuff like proxy pools or API integrations are the only way. Anyone got a quick setup guide or some tips? Miss the simpler times when you just used free proxies and hoped for the best, now it's all about anti-detection and rotating every request. Just wanna get my scraper running smooth without drowning in captcha hell. Would be cool to hear what ya guys are doing these days or if there's some old school tricks still workin.

careful with those free proxies, man, I once tried that and got so many bans I lost track. now I stick to legit proxy pools but yeah, the old days were easier. those random free proxies are a gamble

Bruh, free proxies are basically Russian roulette. sometimes they work for a sec but then boom, you're flagged or banned. lowkey, spend a lil on legit proxy pools, save your sanity.

yo bruh, lol, i remember back in the day just slapped a bunch of free proxies in a script and hoped for the best. got banned so many times i lost count. now i do a legit proxy pool and rotate with a simple python script, way less headache.

spot on. I still got some old school scripts that kinda work but yeah, it's a mess now. do you ever think about mixing in some browser fingerprinting tricks or is that overkill for your scale

lol yeah, those days were simpler but also kinda risky. nowadays the anti-detection stuff is legit. wanna try some legit proxy pools or just stick with old school and hope for the best? ymmv but i'd say build a small pool with fresh proxies and rotate more frequently, maybe add some delay too. captcha hell is real but not impossible to beat if you keep it simple.

lol I remember the first time I tried to set up proxy rotation it felt like I was hacking into a secret lair or something. always a mix of frustration and that tiny bit of satisfaction when it finally works right. now it's just kinda like riding a bike but yeah those old school scripts bring back memories of the early days in this space.

ok so different angle: don't just rotate proxies blindly, keep an eye on the quality. Using a pool of low-quality proxies will kill your success faster than you think, especially with longer sessions. Ymmv but investing in fresh, reliable proxies makes a huge difference in stability.

I disagree with just rotating proxies blindly, tbh. always check their geo-location stability and response times, use a tool like proxycheck.io or similar. if your proxies are flaky, your whole campaign suffers, rn.

ever try running a test with 50 proxies and 30 of them flaked out in the first 10 minutes? I had a buddy who did that, lost a chunk of leads, and now he checks geo and response time before even adding to the pool. Waste of time otherwise.

YEP exactly, been there. had a pool of 100 proxies and like 30 flaked out in 15 min once, lost legit leads. always gotta check response times and geo stability if you wanna keep

Been doing this 3 years, still remember setting up my first rotation. had a pool of 200 proxies, like 50 went down in the first hour. now I check response times and geo before adding, saves me a lot of headache.

different angle: sometimes I feel like chasing the perfect proxies is a never-ending game but honestly just keep a stash of reliable ones and rotate smart, you'll be fine.

Over 150 proxies and still get caught sometimes lol, it's a constant game. one tip: use residential proxies from legit providers and rotate IPs based on response times, not just geo. keeps me more stealthy.
