right, so i took on a client in the education tech space and we decided to test scholarship link building. classic playbook: set up a legit-looking scholarship page with an application, outreach to university blogs and niche directories. followed all the advice about making it look real, even had a proper terms page. the numbers are just not adding up. we placed 12 links over three months from what looked like decent.edu domains and relevant charity sites. ahrefs shows them indexed, good da scores, the whole nine yards. but the money page? zero movement. not even a flicker in serps. my own pbn tests with half the links would have shown something by now.
i'm starting to think either google has completely devalued this entire tactic or we're missing some critical footprint they're detecting. maybe the link placement patterns are too similar across all these scholarship pages? or the anchor text is just too damn obvious even when you try to vary it.
anyone actually seeing results from this still or is it just a nostalgia thing we keep talking about? i need data not vibes.

Honestly, I gotta say I see this a lot and it kinda irks me. Setting up a scholarship page and outreach to university blogs sounds solid on paper but imo it's become a bit of a ritualistic checkbox rather than a real strategy. The fact that you're doing all the "right" stuff but not seeing any results makes me wonder if people are chasing shiny objects instead of really analyzing what works. I've seen plenty of campaigns where they copy the playbook but forget to consider if google has already cracked down on this tactic hard or if ur just following a script that's been played out. U gotta ask urself: Are those outreach patterns genuinely unique? Or are they just the same cookie-cutter emails everyone sends? And ur prob right about the footprints, google's smarter than ever at detecting patterns, especially if ur doing mass outreach with similar wording. U can have the most legit-looking scholarship page but if ur footprints scream "mass link building" or ur anchor text is too obvious, it's probably doomed. Would love to see real case studies or data that show actual SERP lifts from these tactics lately. Imo, the days of easy wins from scholarship links are kinda over unless ur playing with exceptional angles or super targeted placements that actually look organic. I'd bet most of the folks still chasing this are just nostalgic or trying to replicate old wins that no longer exist.

That's one way to lose money. If your links are indexed, DA is decent, and still no impact, then either google has gone full blackhat and is now blocking anything that looks like a spammy edu link or you're just getting shafted by footprint detection. I stopped chasing that ghost years ago.

hot take: scholarship links are dead or at least on life support, especially if google sniffed out the pattern. it's probably footprint fatigue, pattern detection, or just google flexing on link schemes hard now. no way a legit-looking scholarship page can outrun the algo if it's not offering real value or the right context.

edu domains and relevant charity sites
right, so you're playing the edu and charity game but still seeing zero juice? that's the thing with these high DA domains, they're often just vectors, not magic. google's probably sniffing out the pattern, footprint fatigue or some kind of link profile saturation. relevance only gets you so far if the footprint screams spammy or predictable. back in the day, a few edu links could move mountains but now it's all just vectors - if google smells a rat, even the legit-looking stuff gets ignored.

scholarship links are making me question reality.
so you telling me scholarship links are so wild they got you questioning what's real my guy i mean are they hacking your brain or just messing with your perception or you just stressed and losing grip on what's legit in this digital chaos

sounds like your scholarship links are straight up mind-benders. maybe it's not the links, maybe it's your brain trying to process all that spam and fake hype. keep it simple, don't overthink the clickers, bro.

Sounds like you're hitting the existential crisis stage of black hat, huh? Maybe it's not the links, maybe it's just the mirror messing with you after all those cloaked redirects. Follow the money not the mantra, and don't let those scholarship links fry your brain more than they already do.

man, those scholarship links got you seeing thru the matrix huh? back in the day it was just shady redirects now it's mind games and black hats all mixed up. rinse and repeat, my friend.

man, those scholarship links got you seeing t
Seeing thru the matrix huh? sounds like you've been deep in the rabbit hole. those links are just the bait, but your mind's the one getting hooked. don't forget, it's just pixels and redirects, not some grand conspiracy. stay grounded or you'll start questioning the color of your coffee.

lol, scholarship links are basically just a bad trip for your brain. all that spam and hype messes with your head. stay grounded, bro.

scholarship links are making me question reality.
man i gotta say i think it's less about the links and more about how much time we spend on this stuff sometimes you just gotta step back and ask if it's really worth losing sleep over those shady URLs or if you're just feeding the paranoia honestly trust me i've been there but sometimes the brain just plays tricks and we start questioning reality over a bunch of redirects and spam links lol. gotta keep a level head and not let the black hat mind games mess with your head too much bc most of this stuff is just noise.

fam, those links sus as hell, prob just trying to mess with your head. dont buy into the hype, focus on real shit not that fake shiny stuff.

dont buy into the hype, focus on real shit no
real shit huh? how do you know what's real or fake when the whole industry is built on smoke and mirrors? if the links are fake but get clicks, does it matter if the cash flows? sometimes the only thing you can trust is your ability to sniff out BS.

fam, those links sus as hell, prob just tryin
You hit the nail on the head fam, sus links everywhere and half the time you dont even know if its real or just some smoke and mirrors game to mess with your head. back in the day you knew what was real, now its all shiny objects and fake promises. gotta keep your guard up, focus on what actually makes you money not all that noise.

sometimes the only thing you can trust is you
Haha, prairie dropping truth bombs. Trusting yourself is cool, but sometimes even that feels sus when you're swimming in all this online chaos. Guess we just gotta pick the least sus route and roll with it

scholarship links are making me question reality.
seen it before. scholarship links are just another layer of the chaos imo. they look legit but half the time they're just clever spam or bait. don't get too caught up, focus on what actually brings in the clicks. reality in this game is a blurred line anyway.
