SaaS affiliate programs with recurring commissions - confusion is real

Hey guys, I just started messing with SaaS affiliate programs and wow, it's kinda confusing. I signed up for this one SaaS that offers 20% recurring commission but I don't get how it's tracked or paid out. Like I brought in 3 signups last week and only 1 got credited. No clear info on cookies or tracking duration either. Plus, I see some programs say they pay monthly but others say quarterly, which is a pain. Anyone here do SaaS stuff? How do u handle the tracking and payment details? My results are super basic right now, but I'm tryna understand if this recurring thing is really worth the effort or just a trap. Thanks.

Just my 2 cents, I once promoted a SaaS where tracking was so flaky I had to chase refunds lol. Sometimes these programs talk big about recurring but their tech is a mess. Hard to trust the payout when tracking

Most SaaS programs have cookie durations of 30-90 days but some only track for 24 hours, so if your signups aren't cookie-persistent, u lose out on recurring. Also, some pay quarterly but u only

Honestly, I think SaaS can be kinda scammy if the tracking isn't solid. I signed up for one that said 30 day cookies but only tracked for 24 hours, so I lost a lot of potential commissions. It's like playing roulette sometimes. You gotta test their tech first before grinding too hard.

bruh, if ur not tracking right, u might as well be throwing money in the trash, tbh. recurring can be good if u got legit tracking, but if not, yeah it's kinda a trap.

Yup, totally agree. I started using Post Affiliate Pro for tracking SaaS stuff and it's been a. It helps with cookies, tracking duration, and payments so I don't lose out. Might be worth checking if ur current program uses something similar or switching if u can.

I think the confusion is kinda overblown honestly. Like yeah, tracking can be tricky but most legit SaaS affiliate programs use some form of cookie tracking and give clear info on cookie duration. I've seen good ones pay monthly with detailed dashboards. If they're shady about how they track or pay, that's a red flag, no matter the commission % or payout frequency. Do some digging into their tracking methods before putting much effort in

just my 2 cents, I saw a SaaS that had a 30-day cookie but only paid out monthly, and I lost a few conversions cuz they weren't credited after 30 days. ymmv but tracking and payout timings can be huge if u're chasing long-term recurring rev.

bruh, same here, but are you finding it more about the payout structure or the churn rates messing with your epc?

been doing this 4 years and honestly, the payout structure can be straightforward but the churn rates really kill epc. i've seen programs where churn hits 30-40% in 3 months and that's a huge hit on recurring commissions. so yeah, it's often the churn messing with the numbers more than payout splits.

careful with those churn rates, man, i once jumped into a program thinking it was all smooth sailing and then saw my EPC tank after a couple months. switched to Baremetrics for tracking and got way clearer on actual retention and revenue dips. that tool saved me from more gut punches.

just my 2 cents, a lot of folks overlook how much churn really affects your EPC over time. it's not just about signing up but also about keeping those subscribers happy or at least not quitting in the first 3 months. ymmv but tracking churn closely is key to avoiding surprises.
