man, do you remember back in the day when facebook was just click, test, scale? those were the days. now its like every pixel has a secret handshake and you need a phd in data science just to figure out why your ads die overnight. i was running a simple skin care offer, pushing on facebook, got CR up to 4.5% on sleeper lp, cpa was hanging around 15, everything smooth. then ios 14+ hit like a freight train, and suddenly, what used to be a no-brainer just turned into a guessing game. so i shifted over to tiktok, tried some native style creatives, and it's weirdly working better than fb for now, cr is climbing, cpa's holding. but man, remember when google ads was just search and a bit of display? now it's like trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded with all these auto-bids and smart campaigns. still, gotta say i miss those simpler days. now it's like, you gotta be a hacker, a designer, and a data scientist just to get a stable week. anyone else nostalgic or is it just me holding onto old memories?

oh man totally feel you it was a different world back then I remember when I first started out it was all about raw storytelling and organic engagement now its algorithms and pixel perfect targeting trust the process but yeah sometimes I wish I could just run a straightforward campaign without 50 layers of tech noise

exactly man, i miss the days when you just threw up a decent lp and let it run. now it's all about chasing the algorithm, split testing a million creatives and hoping one sticks. sometimes i think the old school approach was better, but what can you do.

yeah, those were the days. just set it and forget it. now you gotta babysit pixels and hope the AI doesn't ruin your campaign overnight. smh. reminds me of the good old days when marketing was about creativity, not chasing shiny objects. now its all data science and a/b testing madness. lol. wish i could go back to simpler times for a week.

now it's all about chasing the algorithm, spl
yeah man, chasing the algorithm feels like chasing a ghost sometimes. u tweak a few things and overnight everything changes. back in the day u just put out a good product and let it roll. now its constant fiddling, trying to beat some mysterious AI beast. imo u gotta accept that u just gotta adapt or get left behind, but damn does it make the game less fun sometimes

Those days were simpler but man the game has changed a lot since then. Now you gotta hustle harder for every conversion but that old school vibe, kinda miss it.

Hustle harder or not, the game is still about squeezing juice outta that same lemon. Old school was simple but it was alsooo a scam-fest. Now you got to be smarter, quicker, and more sneaky. The game's just got a new coat of paint, but the underlying dirt's still the same. That vibe?

actually, i think the dirt's been cleaned up quite a bit, not just painted over. old school was full of scammy direct links and brand bidding chaos. now you gotta be really good to hide your CR and avoid bans, so the dirt's just moved underground

Haha, yeah Upside, I feel ya. Those days were a little like shooting fish in a barrel, or at least trying to find one without tripping over the scammy wreckage. Simpler, yeah, but also kinda like shooting in the dark without any real skill involved. Now you gotta be a ninja to even get near the pond without getting your hand slapped. But hey, at least it's more legit. Or so we tell ourselves when we're not pulling our hair out trying to hide CRs and dodge bans. The good ol days? They had their charm, but the hustle now? It's a whole new level of chess, not checkers.

Ah, the good old days where media buying was basically just throwing money at a wall and hoping some of it stuck. Now it's like a digital version of hide and seek with your own money, but the hiding spots are so sneaky even Houdini would be impressed. Honestly, I think the dirt just moved underground, not cleaned up. Everyone acts like it's some enlightened era, but behind the scenes it's still the same churn and burn, just with fancier dashboards and less transparency. If anything, we're just playing a more complicated game of whack-a-mole. Nostalgia is cute until you remember how much of that old stuff was just scams in disguise.

i gotta say tho, I think the old days had their own kind of mess but they were also kinda easier to keep a lid on, you know? It was a lot less layered but also a lot less complicated to manage because you didn't have to deal with the same level of tech spaghetti we got now. Sure, there was more scammy stuff out in the open but at least you knew what you were fighting against, now it's all sneaky cloaking and s2s API dance that can drive you nuts if you're not careful. So I'd argue it's not just about the dirt being moved underground, it's more about how the dirt's grown into this whole underground jungle that's way harder to navigate. track it or lack it my friend

yeah, nostalgia is fun but let's be real. Media buying was crap then too. Just more transparent crap maybe. The old days? More like easier to blame the platform when things went sideways. Now? It's a crapshoot with all these layers and algorithms. Bottom line?

Been there. Do you think the "simplicity" of back then actually made it easier or just less transparent? Easier to blame the platform but harder to see the real game. Now we have layers but at least we can kinda analyze the black box.

yeah, been there, tested that the old days had their own mess but yeah kinda simpler in a way because less layers and algorithms to chase down but also easier to get lost in the noise with less data to analyze now it's just a different kind of chaos, but at least we got more clues to figure out what's actually working
