Niche edits vs guest posts - which ROI wins?

so I posted about link building tactics before and I keep seeing this debate pop up - niche edits versus guest posts. Honestly I'm over the same tired takes. Everyone acting like one's obviously better than the other w/o real data. Bruh, if you ask me, it's all about ROI. Niche edits look shiny, yeah, they're quick, and sometimes the link is already aged and got some juice. But the problem is, a lot of them come from sites that look kinda shady or already got hammered with PBN spam. Guest posts, on the other hand, can be more natural and safer, but they take forever to get published and cost more. So which actually gives better ROI? I wanna see some real numbers, not just

Been doing this 15 years, man. In my gut, niche edits can hit quick but ROI? Depends on quality. Guest posts take longer but last longer. Usually, I say, mix both, test small, see what pays off better for your niche.

I hear ya, and I totally agree that ROI is king here. I've tested both a lot and found that niche edits can bring quick wins but sometimes dip in quality, while guest posts cost more upfront but tend to stick around longer. I think the key is balancing both based on your niche and budget

90% of niche edits I've bought from shady sites have dropped 50% in DR in 6 months, while legit guest posts tend to hold steady or grow 10-15% over a year.

I gotta disagree, fam. My experience says niche edits can be solid if you vet the sites right, and ROI can be just as good if you pick clean ones. guest posts are safe but tend to be slow and pricey, so it's all about balancing both based on your budget and timeline.

been doing this 3 years and yeah, shady niche edits are trash, they might look good at first but most drop quick and hurt your site long term. legit guest posts cost more but stay solid and grow over time, smh ppl still fall for the quick shiny stuff.

Haha, yeah, this debate never dies. Imho, ROI is king but you gotta be real about the quality of the sites, bruh. I've seen some niche edits look good at first but tank fast, while legit guest posts tend to hold up better long term. Always gotta vet those links hard.

Different angle: sometimes slow and steady wins fr, but I get why folks chase quick wins. gotta weigh the long-term ROI vs short-term gains, yo.

If you want real ROI, focus on legit guest posts on niche sites with strong metrics and avoid shady PBNs even if it costs more. Have you tested any tiered approach where you start with guest posts and sprinkle in niche edits for quick boosts?

55% of the time, tiered approaches work if u keep track of cr and adjust. I'd ask, how do u manage the link juice balance between the slow build of guest posts and quick niche edits?

been doing this 3 years, ROI on niche edits is sus if u get hammered, guest still safer but slower. gotta test tiered to find balance.

Different angle: I get where you're coming from but I think a lot of folks are missing the real ROI secret. It's not just about choosing niche edits or guest posts, but about mixing them smart. I've seen tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush help track which links hold up over time. It's all about testing and keeping an eye on the juice decay, then adjusting your mix based on what actually sticks long term lol.

bruh, real talk, don't forget about the power of anchor text diversity. Mixing branded, generic, and exact match anchors across niche edits and guest posts can boost ROI fr way more than just picking one. Keep that in mind when testing different combos.
