look, everyone obsesses over expressvpn or nord for netflix. ran mullvad through a 30-day geo-unblocking test across 5 different regions. results are counter-intuitive. it failed disney+ and amazon prime consistently, zero access. but netflix uk and us worked at 98% success rate, with only a few server swaps needed. speed loss was around 12-15%, which is fine for hd. their no-log policy and independent audits are the real draw here though. the takeaway? if your client just wants netflix and real privacy, mullvad is oddly effective. if they need every streaming service under the sun, look elsewhere. my logs show its a specialist tool, not a generalist.

Yeah I ran into that last year too.. everyone just parrots those two like theyre the only options. imo theyre usually more about the hype and brand than actual quality for streaming. sometimes the smaller guys like Mullvad surprise you, especially on privacy stuff. but yeah, if you just want Netflix and some privacy, I guess it's a kinda niche pick.

Vantage, hype and quality dont always line up. plenty of smaller providers do just as good or better on streaming, but u gotta know what ur testing for. Mullvad's not about every service under the sun, its about privacy first, streaming second.

So if Mullvad's about privacy first and streaming second, how come it works so well with Netflix but flops with Disney and Amazon? Usually, those giants are the ones pushing the most aggressive VPN detection. Are they really just better at hiding what they do or is Mullvad secretly tweaking their configs for Netflix's little algorithm? Seems like a bit of a mismatch, or maybe Mullvad's just not trying to be a jack-of-all-trades. Either way, raises the question of whether privacy-focused VPNs can actually do both well or if you gotta pick your poison.

cuz Netflix is lazy, that's why. Disney and Amazon throw everything they got at VPN detection, which makes it a shitshow to bypass. Mullvad's stealth tech isn't meant for that war, it's for privacy, not for dodging every gatekeeper out there.

Interesting take, but do you really think Mullvad's success on Netflix UK and US isn't partly due to the fact that Netflix kinda leaves some of these smaller VPNs alone to keep the privacy angle clean? Or is it just that Netflix's detection methods are less aggressive than Disney or Amazon? I wonder if their stealth tech could actually be tweaked or if Mullvad's just playing in a different league where privacy trumps the war on VPNs. Back to the lab

Been there. My two cents, Netflix kinda lets smaller VPNs slide cause they know most just want privacy and streaming. Disney and Amazon push harder cause they want control, so Mullvad hits its limits there.

Mullvad for streaming? yeah, sure, if you like your data mixed with a side of weird. Its privacy game is strong but sometimes that comes with odd quirks. Sometimes the connection just refuses to cooperate, or it gets slow without warning. Data can tell a story but not always the one you want to hear. If your streams are choppy, maybe try a different server or switch providers. Garbage in, garbage out. And don't forget, VPNs are not magic. They hide, but don't fix all your streaming PITA

LOL, I feel u! Sometimes my own wifi acts like it's got a mind of its own, totally ghosting me when I need it most. Maybe Mullvad is just playing hard to get? Or maybe it's the ghost of old dial-up trying to sneak back in. U ever try restarting or switching servers?

haha, Mullvad and streaming, that combo is like playing with fire sometimes... data's solid but the weirdness is real. Sometimes it just drags, or the IP leaks like a sieve and you gotta chase it around with restart magic. Honestly, I think the algo doesn't care if you're streaming or gaming, it just wants juice, and Mullvad's quirks are part of the ride. Just gotta know when to pause and check if it's behaving or if it's throwing a fit for no reason. Anyway, I still prefer it over others cause privacy and all but yeah, weird stuff is part of the package.

haha, Mullvad and streaming? sounds like a fun gamble. in my experience, u get what u pay for - solid privacy but a wild ride on the connection.

fun gamble? nah, it's more like a poorly played hand. Mullvad's privacy game is solid but for streaming it's like bringing a knife to a gunfight, especially with the weird drops and leaks. if you want a reliable stream, pick a VPN that actually cares about consistent connection.
