IPv4 vs IPv6 proxies - which one actually better?

hey so i've been playing around with proxies and honestly the ipv4 vs ipv6 thing is a bit messy. ipv4 is still what most people use, it's got tons of providers and it's reliable like we know it works. but ipv6 is newer and less crowded so it can be better for privacy if you get a good provider. problem is a lot of places don't support ipv6 well or it's kinda hit or miss so ymmv. basically check if the sites you're hitting even work with ipv6. if you want more privacy and wanna be ready for the future maybe try ipv6, but for fast stable scraping or avoiding bans ipv4 is still king. anyone actually run both and have real results or problems?
 
last month i tried both for different projects, and yeah ipv6 was kinda tricky with some sites not playing nice but i did notice less bans when i used ipv6 for some stuff. imho, gotta test and see what works best for your target sites.
 
yep, spot on. ipv6 can be a pain with some sites but less bans is a nice bonus if it works. kinda like a trade-off, test it on the sites you really care about
 
yeah, same here. i found that some sites just totally block ipv6, so i gotta switch back to ipv4, but when it works, less bans is a big plus. my tip is to keep a quick way to switch between them so u can test fast and see what sticks. stay chill, happy proxy hunting!
 
just my 2 cents, i tried both too but had way more issues with ipv6 than ppl say. some sites just straight up block it, and setup can be messier. for me ipv4 still way more reliable for steady work.

Honestly I think ipv6 can be a total pain sometimes, but when it works it's crazy fast and less crowded. I've had some sites just outright block it tho, so I keep a mix ready. trying both together kinda gives me a fallback if one gets fussy lol. ymmv but I'd say stay flexible. stay sharp!
 
Been there, done that. Mixing both got me less bans but also more headaches with support and configs. sometimes just stick with one depending on what u do. dual setup's cool if u got time to tinker.
 
you ever tried using my favorite proxy provider? they do a decent job at managing both ipv4 and ipv6 and handle site compatibility pretty well. i disagree that one is always better, depends on the use case, but having a reliable dual setup saved me more
 
I gotta disagree, ipv6 can actually be a if you find a legit provider that handles site support well, but yeah, most ppl still stick to ipv4 cause it's just simpler and more compatible
 
if you want my two cents, always check your target sites for compatibility first. i found IPv4 proxies more reliable for most mainstream sites cause IPv6 still has some kinks with certain servers. my experience is different from what some ppl say but that's what's worked for me, lol
 
I'd say IPv6 can be better if your target sites are optimized for it, but most still lag behind IPv4 in compatibility. I personally seen way less issues with IPv4 when dealing with legacy sites or servers that haven't fully adopted IPv6. So rn, I still lean towards IPv4 for reliability but IPv6 has potential if the target supports it smoothly.
 
most ppl sleep on IPv6 but honestly i got 3x faster speeds with IPv6 sometimes and like 30% lower latency. not many sites are fully ready for it tho so yeah, depends. still, if u wanna be future-proof, start testing IPv6 now
 
Been doing this 3 years and honestly IPv4 still feels more stable for most stuff, but I gotta say I switched to some IPv6 proxies from Blazing Proxies recently and the speeds are kinda nuts sometimes. Latency drop is real if you find sites that support it properly. Would recommend checking out their IPv6 proxies if u want a shot at future-proofing without losing too much on compatibility.
 
just my 2 cents, I tried both for a small niche project and ended up sticking with IPv4 cuz I kept hitting issues with IPv6 sites not recognizing my proxies. speeds were kinda faster but compatibility was pain. never really needed the future-proof part lol
 
if u wanna minimize geo-based blocks, try pairing IPv6 with a good DNS resolver that supports AAAA records, so u can get more accurate geo targeting without having to switch proxies often. helps keep things smooth and less buggy.
 
ur thoughts fam, good points all around. yeah, IPv6 is definitely the future but still got some kinks, so rn i stick mostly with IPv4 for reliability. speed and latency with IPv6 tho are lit if u find the right targets. tl;dr, test both and see what works best rn.
