so I've been messing with HARO and Connectively for a couple months now. honestly, it's like shooting fish in a barrel if ur strategy is right. I've scored around 15 quality backlinks in the last 60 days, and most of them are from sites I'd actually link to in a normal outreach. like, these aren't flaky niche directories or crap sites. it's legit media outlets, blogs, and niche publications. what I found is if ur pitching is tight and ur answers are useful, u get responses fast. no fluff, just answer questions confidently and with a bit of personality. I also experimented with Connectively, and for a small fee, I get weekly curated lists of journalists and editors who actually respond. no spam, no mass blast. results? faster link acquisition, and the best part they're real links, not PBN style junk. I'm not gonna say it's a silver bullet but it's legit if u know how to craft a good pitch and follow up. anyone else doing this? would be cool to hear what ur win rate looks like.

so I've been messing with HARO and Connectively for a couple months now, huh? I gotta say, if you want a legit shortcut to quality links, I swear by Help a Reporter Out. It's like fishing with a better bait. No fluff, just real journalists and editors looking for legit stories. ymmv but I'd say it's worth a shot if you're tired of spammy outreach.

man different angle: I tried HARO a while back and honestly, it worked okay but took a lot of follow-up and patience. The few legit links I got were from pitching faster responses and being really specific. Still, ymmv, but

just my 2 cents: focus on customizing your pitches to each outlet instead of generic responses. it might take more time but those personalized touchpoints usually boost response rates big time. ymmv.

been doing this 3 years and I still see my hit rate swing wildly based on timing and how well I know the outlet. one thing I learned is sometimes a quick follow-up or even a quick tweet mentioning their work can boost your chances. ymmv but it's all about staying persistent and knowing when to push harder lol

Ymmv is basically the internet's way of saying "ymmv" but with less typing lol. true tho, everyone's style is different. just gotta find what sticks for u.

Yea bruh, but sometimes I swear personalized pitches turn into black holes too. I mean, I've seen good ones get ghosted just as much as canned responses. imho, nothing's

Careful with saying those links are "from sites you'd actually link to." kinda risky to claim that, bruh. not all media outlets are equal, even if they look legit on the surface. gotta vet them properly before gettin excited.

been doing outreach 2 years, and honestly, that part about "no fluff, just answer questions confidently and with a bit of personality" hits different. I've had responses spike when I kept it simple and real like 30% open rate with tight

Last month I scored a handful of links from legit media, same vibe. I used Connectively too, and I gotta say, the curated list saves me a lot of time. But yeah, even with good lists and pitches, some sites still ghost. It's all about consistency and good follow-up, not just the tools.

Last month I got a couple legit links from some big sites using that same approach, kept it real simple and natural. I think it works because you don't sound like spam but idk how long that will stay effective before everyone copies it.

careful with relying too much on HARO or connectively tho, they can be hit or miss depending on the niche and pitch timing. have you noticed any particular types of stories or angles that get better responses?

just my 2 cents, I think storytelling or news angles that hit emotional triggers tend to get more responses, ymmv tho. anyone else noticing specific pitches work better?

Honestly, I think most people get hyped over HARO and connectively like they're the secret sauce but forget that PR is just another cold outreach game. One time I pitched a "story" about a local biz going viral and got zero response, but another time I threw out some weird personal anecdote and boom, they bit. Sometimes it's just about throwing enough spaghetti at the wall.

try adding some quick data points or stats to your pitches, it can make them stand out. do you think that helps or do journalists still prefer more storytelling?

73% of outreach emails get ignored, so I swear by adding a quick personal touch or joke in my cold pitches. I remember this one time I sent a super casual intro about my dog's latest escapade, and it got me a reply from a top journalist who usually ignores everything. Sometimes a little randomness breaks the ice better than stats or stories.

Honestly, I think some folks oversell HARO like it's a magic button. I've scored good links, but ymmv and it's mostly about follow-up and timing, not just throwing a pitch and praying. I've seen people waste tons of time waiting for the perfect hook when it's just hustle that gets you in the door.

u wanna stand out on HARO? i once threw in a quick stat about how my niche was growing and got a reply in like 2 hrs lol. not sure if it's always that easy but sometimes a lil data can get u noticed.

I gotta disagree, HARO isn't some magic button either. I've landed legit authority links but it's all about consistent follow-up and timing for me. Throwing in some data or a quick stat can help, but never rely on it alone to get you results.
