so i got this trip coming up and honestly ive been putting off the vpn stuff like forever. just want something that actually works with us netflix and maybe hbo max from tokyo. last time i used my old vpn it was a total lag fest and i kept getting proxy errors. so done with that. dont care about like crypto privacy or whatever, just wanna watch my shows without buffering. anyone got recent good results? and pls for the love of god dont tell me to use the free ones everyone mentions cause we all know they suck. saw some ads for express and nord but idk about their speeds from asia. someone said mullvad is fast but idk if it streams well? might just pick one and try for a month if it works. let me know your real world travel experience, not some review site bs.
 
been doing this 3 years, and honestly, for streaming in asia, nordvpn has been solid, like legit no lag or proxy errors, and I get smooth US Netflix and HBO max. Mullvad can be fast but some say it struggles with streaming, so id avoid if streaming's main goal. Nord has like 5k+ servers in asia, so chances are good you'll find a fast one.
 
Nord's speed in asia's pretty good for streaming, but have u tried their Asia servers? Sometimes they're more stable for US Netflix and HBO max.

Thanks for the tips guys, really appreciate it. Yeah I've heard Nord is decent, might just go with that and test their US servers from Tokyo. Will skip the free ones for sure, no buffering stress this time. Gonna try it out and see how it goes.
 
Why not try ExpressVPN or NordVPN, they usually work for Netflix in Japan? Just a heads up tho, Netflix's VPN detection gets stricter so no guarantee 100%. Make sure to test before u rely on
 
i honestly wouldn't trust any VPN for Netflix anymore. They all get detected quick, no matter what. If u wanna try, go with Surfshark, their stealth mode sometimes works better, but ymmv.

haha, stealth mode is kinda like that one friend who says they'll help but sometimes bails, so I say always have a backup. around 70% of the time stealth works, but if Netflix gets serious about blocking
