Ghosts in the Machine: AMs who vanish after you follow advice

Remember when affiliate managers were actually available? Now they ghost faster than my last Facebook ban. Share results: last month I hit a decent CR but never got paid on time. Tried to follow advice again, got silence. Nostalgia hits hard. Guess some AMs are better at hiding than delivering. Simple. Keep tracking. Keep earning. Or just wait for the ghost to come back

I gotta say I disagree with the idea that waiting around for these AM ghosts to come back is even worth the time. SOMETHING IS BROKEN in this whole system when people think ghosting is normal. Affiliate managers should be part of your asset, not some mythical creature who disappears when things get tough. If you're chasing ghosts, you're losing focus on what actually matters building your own assets. And don't forget, your email list is the only thing you truly own. No AM, no matter how helpful they pretend to be, can replace the power of a solid email sequence. If you're just waiting for a manager to show up and wave the magic wand, you're already broke even before the payout. Push harder, find real contacts, or better yet, build your own assets so you can control the game. OTHERWISE, you're just feeding the ghost story and wasting your precious time.

dead on arrival with that ghosting nonsense my guy I've seen AMs vanish faster than my last ad account when it hit a ban wave I mean I lost count of the times they say they'll help but then vanish like they got a secret retreat or something no loyalty just smoke and mirrors you gotta build your own systems or you end up chasing ghosts forever in this game the real winners are the ones who stop waiting and start running their own show

Remember when affiliate managers were actually available
Remember when affiliate managers were actually available? Yeah, I do. But here's the kicker - that was the old days when AMs actually had skin in the game, they were part of your MOAT. Now they ghost, disappear, think they're too good for follow ups. That's why you gotta build your own system, your own influencer relationships and stop relying on these deadbeat gatekeepers.

Guess some AMs are better at hiding than delivering
I gotta disagree with that idea that some AMs are just hiding better than delivering. Most of the time it's not about hiding, it's about them just not having the skills or resources to follow through. Ghosting is usually a sign they aren't serious or they're overwhelmed, not that they're sneaky ninjas. I've been burned by that before, assuming some secret hideout when really they just dropped the ball. Keep your eyes on the prize and move on if they vanish, no point wasting time on ghosts

Been there AMs vanish when things get messy they think ghosting is a solution but in BH we know better always keep your blacklist tight, never rely on one AM for everything and keep hustling your own traffic flow or you'll end up chasing ghosts forever

Haha, yeah I feel that. I've been around long enough to remember when AMs actually responded without making you feel like you're talking to a ghost. The funny part is a lot of them are just as flaky as a $2 hotel breakfast. I mean, some of these guys are like my last email list - dead, unresponsive and prob just collecting dust. The real kicker is how many of us still keep hoping they'll change or come back. Spoiler: they won't. Just like your Facebook ban, sometimes u gotta accept the ghosting as part of the game. The real hustle is building ur own systems that don't rely on these disappearing acts. Otherwise, u just end up chasing shadows while they're out partying.

smh, this is so common it hurts. follow advice, see some tiny wins then poof gone. they got what they wanted or maybe just got bored. whatever, it's the nature of the beast. you can keep trying but sometimes you just gotta take the wins you get and move on. ghosting is part of the game, data or it didn't happen

Ah, the classic vanishing act. It's like trying to catch a fish with a spaghetti net. You do the work, get a tiny splash of success, then poof they disappear. Probably bored or just tired of being pestered. Whatever it is, it's the reason most outreach feels like shouting into the void. You chase ghosts, hope for a link, get a maybe, then nada. Eventually you learn to stop chasing and start churning out more pitches. Keeps the lights on longer.

Honestly I think sometimes we blame the AMs a little too much for vanishing acts. I get the frustration but maybe we gotta look at it from their side too. They're bombarded with a thousand pitches, constantly trying to find the right angle, the right niche. When they finally get some traction, maybe they just wanna ride that wave a bit longer before the next chase. It's not always them ghosting, sometimes it's just the natural rhythm of trying to scale fast. So yeah, you got your tiny wins, but don't assume they're just bored or playing games. Maybe they're just trying to hold onto that momentum longer, but it's a tough game.

but are we sure they vanish cuz of us or just the nature of the game? maybe they get swamped or bored real quick, not always about your pitch. sometimes you gotta wonder if we chasing ghosts or just bad timing.

I'll concede that a lot of it is just the game. Sometimes you're just chasing ghosts, other times maybe you hit a bad timing or they're overwhelmed. gotta keep moving regardless.

I might be wrong but I think the real ghost here is poor follow up timing. You can follow advice perfectly but if you don't hit the right moment or the right intensity of the pitch, the AMs just ghost you. It's not always about us or their mood, sometimes it's about catching that window before they move on.

Alright, I gotta call BS on the whole "it's just timing or the game" excuse. That kinda thinking is why so many waste time chasing ghosts. You either have the skill to get responses or you don't. Blaming "bad timing" is just an easy way out when your offers or creatives aren't converting. You think AMs vanish because they got overwhelmed or bored? Nah, they vanish because your stuff is meh or you're hitting them at the wrong moment because your approach is weak. If you wanna stand out, you gotta be relentless, not just hope for a lucky break. Chase ghosts all you want, but real pros know when to change the game

You're not wrong about skill but come on now blaming ghosts on bad timing or the game itself is a bit of a cop out if you ask me I mean yeah sometimes people are busy or overwhelmed but if you really know your stuff and hit the right nerve at the right moment they don't ghost you they respond so maybe the real ghost is just a lack of prep or understanding of when to pull the trigger and some AMs just play hard to get cause they can but the ones who actually know their craft don't vanish they just disappear for a moment to make you sweat a little
