Alright so I tried to set up some geo-targeted proxies for a client who wants to scrape localized content but man am I hitting walls. The idea was to mimic real users from specific cities or even neighborhoods, so I went down the residential proxy rabbit hole thinking it's the safest route. But honestly, the results are hit or miss. Sometimes the proxies work for a day, then suddenly sites flag me, even with anti-detection measures in place. I even tried rotating them more frequently but still ran into captchas and blocks. Anyone got recent experience with reliable geo-targeted residential proxies that actually stick? Or maybe I should be looking into mobile proxies for this? Would love some honest recs or tricks because I'm getting tired of chasing shadows. Feels like the good old days of proxies when you could just buy a batch, forget about it, and scrape like a boss.

i'll just leave this here - residential proxies are not some magic shield. they're just one piece of the puzzle, and honestly, relying on them alone for tight geo targeting is a recipe for chaos. neighborhoods change, IPs get flagged fast, and sites are way smarter now. mobile proxies? yeah, they can be more sticky but also more unpredictable if not managed right. all this chasing shadows just means you need a smarter stack, not a magic proxy box. sometimes the solution is thinking outside the proxy stack and tweaking your fingerprint or session handling. don't just buy more proxies, think about the whole environment.

Why do you think mobile proxies are the magic bullet? I mean, yeah they might be more dynamic but also more expensive and harder to manage. Plus, a lot of sites have gotten smarter at fingerprinting mobile IPs just like residential. Sometimes I feel like mobile proxies are just a shiny distraction from the real issue which is how fragile the whole setup is. You really trust they'll stay clean longer than residentials? Or are you just hoping for a magic switch that makes everything easier?

Come on, now. Thinking residential proxies are your golden ticket for local content is like believing in fairy dust. Sure, they look good on paper, but in practice, they are unstable and easy to blackball if you push too hard. Mobile proxies? They're just a fancy spam factory with a huge price tag and even more headache.

Color me skeptical if residential proxies are your best bet for local scraping. They are more unstable than a Jenga tower in an earthquake. If you're running into captcha hell even with anti-detection, then you're doing it wrong.

LOL, I feel u! But honestly, I think residential proxies can work if u pick the right ones and keep a close eye on your rotation speed. Sure, they are kinda fragile but totally doable if u stay on top of things. Mobile proxies? Yeah, they might be more dynamic but also a big wallet drain and tougher to manage, IMO. Sometimes it's about finding that sweet spot between stability and cost. Maybe try a mix of residential and mobile, see what sticks best in ur case. U gotta keep experimenting, that's the game!

Hold my beer. Here's the thing, the proxy game is like chasing a ghost in a fog. Back in the day you buy a batch, slap them on, scrape all day, and call it a day. Now? It's like trying to tame a wild beast. Residential proxies are supposed to be the gold standard but man, they're more fragile than my old man's knees. You rotate faster than a DJ at a club, and still get flagged. Mobile proxies? They're a little better but cost more than a used car and good luck managing a stable pool without losing your mind. Honestly, I think a lot of this is overthought. If sites are flagging you with legit proxies, maybe it's time to rethink the approach. Maybe you're better off less fancy, more creative. Ever tried just building a semi-decent LP and running less aggressive campaigns? Sometimes less is more. The tech changes but people are still people.

exactly, that's the trouble. Residential proxies are basically the fragile paper airplanes of the proxy world. They look promising, but if you push a little too hard, they fall apart or get flagged fast. You gotta keep your rotation tight, use legit providers, and pray to the proxy gods. Mobile proxies?

so I dove into mobile proxies last week, thinking maybe they'd be more stable, but nope. Still getting hit with blocks and captchas, even with aggressive rotation. Feels like the old days when we fought IP blocks with just a few tricks - miss those simpler times. Now it's a constant game of whack-a-mole.

funny you should say that but relying on geo-targeted proxies for local content is just a bandaid. it's a pain to keep fresh and you end up chasing proxies instead of focusing on optimizing the creat and stacks. honestly, if your offer is worth anything, you should be building your own proxy farm or at least rotating smarter. otherwise, you're just asking for ban waves and broken flows. every campaign needs a dedicated tracker domain, period, so you can change proxies on the fly without wrecking your entire setup

Geo proxies are like chasing ghosts sometimes. Better to learn how to optimize around the data you can actually control. Moving targets are just a waste of juice.

so you're saying geo proxies are a waste and should be avoided entirely? what if the local content is your main hook and you gotta fake local to get the trust? imo there's a middle ground but you gotta ask yourself if chasing proxies really makes sense long term or if you're just spinning wheels. ever seen a campaign where local signals were a despite the proxies?

You're overthinking it. Geo proxies are just a tool, not the holy grail. Focus on the angles that really matter like creatives and stacks. If your content needs local feel, then yeah, proxies help but don't get married to them. Sometimes chasing that perfect geo is just noise
