Frustrated with SaaS affiliate programs' recurring commissions

ok so i posted about saas affiliate stuff before but gotta vent a little. everyone acts like recurring commissions are this magic ticket and you'll be making bank with like two signups lol. yeah no. reality is most programs have insane onboarding, terrible landing pages, and cookie durations that last like two seconds. you put in hours to get a conversion and they bounce and poof your recurring commission is gone. and the payout terms omg. some promise high percentages but then only pay out after 90 days or have wild clawback rules. feels like they're just dangling a carrot you can never actually reach. i keep seeing posts saying saas is the easiest passive income ever but your mileage may vary fr. anyone here actually figure it out or found a legit saas that pays well and has decent tracking? just trying to see what i'm missing cause i keep running into walls.

been doing this 5 years, lol, totally get the struggle. you ever found any legit saas that actually pays? or just chasing shadows?

tbh careful with trusting the hype, most SaaS payouts are slow and attrition is high, like 70-80% drop-off in first month. do you know any programs with 30+ day cookie durations and 20%+ rev share? otherwise, might just be chasing illusions.

Ever felt like you're banging your head against a wall trying to crack these SaaS programs? I spent months chasing one that promised high rev share and 60-day cookies but turned out to be a ghost town, no leads, no payout. It's all smoke and

appreciate y'all sharing your experiences, honestly. yeah, the attrition is brutal and cookie durations are a joke most times. no, haven't found a legit saas that pays good with decent tracking, ymmv. maybe it's just a pipe dream, but I'll keep grinding.

Yep exactly, those recurring commissions can be a double-edged sword. Sometimes they feel more like a trap than a steady income, especially if the churn rates are high. Keep an eye on the program's terms and customer retention.

80% of SaaS apps lose half their users in the first 3 months, smh. Recurring commissions feel risky when churn is high, ymmv. Best to vet programs with solid retention stats before going all-in

haha, recurring commissions are kinda like that ex who promises forever but ghosts after a month. Did ya know SaaS churn rates average around 5-7% a month? That's a lotta attr

Spot on, those churn rates are no joke. Do u think offering bonus incentives or creating custom content could help reduce that churn and keep folks engaged longer?

80% of SaaS apps lose half their users in 3 months, lol, so that ex analogy hits hard. Maybe try using ProfitWell or ChartMogul to monitor churn more closely and spot retention issues early.

You think that's bad? Some SaaS churn is even worse if you look at niche markets. Churn ain't just about the program, it's the whole niche falling apart

i disagree, recurring commissions can be gold if you pick the right programs. sure, it feels slow sometimes but steady income beats one-offs. gotta focus on high-quality SaaS with good retention

Different angle: recurring can actually trap you in a loop of slow growth if the product's churn is high. Fwiw, I'd focus on programs with upsell paths or add-ons so your commissions increase over time without just waiting for retention to do all the work. Are you really tracking churn and upgrade rates? That might give you a clearer picture if it's worth sticking with a program.

Different angle: yeah, recurring can be slow but I've found that with SaaS where the product's sticky and has solid churn rates, it builds a nice passive rev stream. Just gotta pick those with strong retention and maybe some upsell triggers in the funnel.

Yep exactly, recurring commissions can feel like a drag when the churn's high, but if you find the right SaaS with good stickiness, it's a steady bank. imo, it's all about the product quality and the upsell opportunities rather than just the recurring part itself lol.

I tried SaaS recurring for like 6 months and made barely 50 bucks. Honestly, I found that promoting one-off tools with high upfront payouts was way faster for me. Recurring sounds nice but w/o solid churn rates, it just drags on forever.
