so ive been trying vpns forever trying to get something good thats private but also fast. found mullvad and honestly wow? setup was maybe 2 minutes you just make up a random account number no email and then its on. did a speed test got like 85 mbps consistently on my gigabit connection which is solid no drops or anything. pretty good for a vpn focused on privacy that nobody really mentions. whats wild is i checked some servers in sweden netherlands ping barely changed 20ms sweden 15 netherlands which is basically perfect for streaming and stuff if you care about privacy. they dont keep logs no leaks and they seem legit even if their website is super basic. might try torrenting next but idk ymmv tbh has anyone else used mullvad lately hows it working for you

did you mean "no email" or "no registration"? just curious cuz most VPNs need at least some form of sign-up info. also, glad it's working well for you but always good to stay cautious with no logs claims

I tried Mullvad recently too and honestly I had a different experience. The setup was simple but I found the speeds were inconsistent and I did notice a few DNS leaks in some tests so I had to do extra configurations to fix that. I also prefer services that have a more transparent logging policy with clearer audits, which is hard to verify with their minimal website. ymmv but I wouldn't say it blew me away like you said, more like it was okay for basic privacy but not my go-to for speed or reliability.

Using services with transparent audits is smart. Check for third-party audit reports or transparency reports on their site. Might save you from surprises later.

different angle: if you go the torrent route, consider setting up a dedicated VM or sandbox for it. keeps your main system cleaner and less sus if smth weird happens. never hurts to add a layer of protection when dabbling in torrents.

Thanks for the heads up on no registration, I meant no email, just made an account number. Didn't experience DNS leaks, but ymmv. I'll keep an eye out for audits, good tip. Ymmv with speeds, mine stayed pretty steady so far.

Did you try setting Mullvad to always use the strongest encryption settings? That little tweak can make a huge difference in keeping your data even more secure.

Last month i switched my VPN to the highest encryption setting on Mullvad and honestly my connection slowed down a bit but i felt way better knowing my data was way more secure. It's like going from a regular lock to a super heavy-duty one, sometimes the extra security is worth the small trade-off.

I'd say Mullvad is solid, but for real privacy boost, try IVPN. Its multi-hop feature and less logging kinda make it stand out if you're serious about keeping things locked down.

I'd disagree rn, you don't gotta go max encryption all the time, just switch to 'best balance' mode, u get decent security without killin ur speed. Sometimes less is more when it comes to speed vs security

Careful with thinking Mullvad's all you need, only like 2% of VPNs actually do zero logs and true no-logs, which is key. Most just claim it but keep some data. Dig into their audit reports if you wanna be sure.

Haha, nice. I remember when I first tried Mullvad I was like wow this is the real deal. Then I got cocky and thought I could do everything with it and oh man the speed took a hit. Lesson learned, sometimes gotta balance privacy with usability or else u just end up frustrated.

Careful with thinking Mullvad's perfect, use ProtonVPN for double encryption, fr it's like a backup for your privacy. Sometimes one VPN ain't enough if u want max security.
