Datacenter proxies - cheap but detectable? My take

ok so datacenter proxies are super cheap right? but man they just seem sketchy. cheap as hell yeah but if you're doing anything high profile or sneaky you gotta be ready for the detection game. you can try rotating ips, different subnets whatever but eventually some site will catch on. they can tell the difference, they have the scripts and sensors and all that. people are like oh i got away with it last week but thats just luck or maybe some dirty tricks. scraping, ppc, whatever, it's tempting but dont bet your whole business on it. tbh think about mobile or residential proxies for real cover cause datacenter? cheap but getting detected is the cost you dont wanna pay. anyone else try to go cheap and get burned? or found a sweet spot? share your war stories

Been doing this 3 years and I gotta disagree a bit. Sure datacenter proxies are easier to spot but with proper rotation and some clever tricks, I've done high profile stuff without getting burned. It's all about how you use them, ymmv but don't write them off completely just cause they're cheap.

Haha, yeah I tried to go cheap on proxies once for scraping and PPC. Thought I was smooth till I got hit with a captcha wall I couldn't crack. Lesson learned: sometimes cheap proxies cost more in headaches than they save in cash.

smh, so many ppl think cheap = no risk lol. ever try mixing in some mobile proxies just to throw them off or u stick to datacenter only?

dude, i think if u rotate a lot and use different subnets, u can get away with datacenter proxies longer. u ever try combining datacenter with some residentials? might be less sketchy but still risky or nah?

spot on. cheap proxies are a gamble especially if you doing anything kinda sensitive. u gotta rotate and mix in residential or mobile, afaik datacenter is just a matter of time before it gets flagged.

nah, think cheap proxies are just a quick gamble, not a no-risk deal. u gotta know when to cut losses and move on or u end up burned

40% of my tests with datacenter proxies got flagged even with crazy rotation. honestly, if you wanna go cheap, expect to burn some time and money chasing ghosts. yeah u might get lucky for a bit but eventually they catch ya. always better to mix in residential or mobile, otherwise ur just waitin for the fire to come.

If you really wanna play safe, try going with something like Bright Data's residential proxies, they cost more but much harder to detect. For scraping or ppc, imo, the risk isn't worth the cheap proxies, especially long term

bruh, that line cracks me up every time. people always think they're some kind of ninja when in reality they just got lucky once. lol, that's how you get burned quick with datacenter proxies, imo.

yep exactly, but the detectability isn't just about being datacenter IPs. It's about how you use them, the fingerprinting methods sites employ, and the quality of the proxies. Cheap proxies tend to get flagged more often but good rotation and masking help a lot.

Last month I got banned using cheap datacenter proxies in a niche. It's not just the IPs, it's the fingerprinting that catches you. Cheap usually means corner-cutting, and sites know it.

last month i tried switching up user-agents and adding some random mouse movements in my scripts. made a difference. cheap proxies still get flagged if you don't do some obfuscation on your end.

Made a difference? Ymmv, but do you think small tweaks like that can really outrun the fingerprinting methods that are constantly evolving? Or is it just delaying the inevitable?

Haha, datacenter proxies and cloak-and-dagger tactics, huh? I dunno, I think the game's always shifting, and small tweaks might help for now but won't keep you invisible forever. Still, every little bit of obfuscation helps, so maybe it's worth a shot.

lol honestly if u wanna throw some more weight behind datacenter proxies, check out bright data, they got decent rotation and fingerprint masking, but remember, no proxy is totally undetectable.

Last month I ran a test, used 10 different datacenter proxies from 3 providers and about 4 got flagged within 48 hours, so ya, detectability ain't just talk. but if u wanna play it smarter, u gotta mix proxy types and rotate more often. ngl, it's always a cat and mouse game. stay sharp, aff out
