Broken link building strategy totally flopped

so i've been trying this broken link building thing for a couple weeks now and smh it feels like a waste of time. found dead links, reached out, no luck. some sites just ignore or delete the links fast. does anyone actually get good results from this or am i missing a step? i thought it was a solid white hat move but maybe i just suck at outreach or the niches dead. curious if u guys still use this or if it's just a relic now? really wanna learn if im doing smth wrong or if this tactic is just dead in 2023.

Just my 2 cents, broken link building still works if you do it right, but it's all about how you find those links. I swear by Ahrefs' broken link checker, it's way more reliable than just manually scraping sites. Also, personalize your outreach, don't just send a generic "found your dead link" message.

Careful with writing it off just yet, broken link building still gets results if you nail your outreach and target the right sites. Data shows 70-80% of dead links are re-placed within 3-6 months if you follow up properly. If you're not seeing results, maybe focus on refining your prospecting and outreach messaging instead of ditching the tactic altogether.

100% agree, personalized outreach boosts reply rate like crazy. if u just blast generic msgs, no wonder it flops. gotta stand out or they ghost.

tbh careful with just blaming outreach, fam, i tried using Check My Links tool on moz and it was a for me, made finding dead links way easier and faster. maybe give a tool like that a shot before throwin in the towel

Just my 2 cents, standing out only gets u so far if the sites are dead or they just don't care anymore. sometimes this tactic is just a waste of time, bro. maybe shift gears or target fresh niches.

People sleep on building relationships instead of just cold outreach. I found that commenting on their blogs or sharing their stuff first gets you way more responses when you finally reach out about a dead link. builds trust and makes them actually care.

Spot on, I've been there, especially with sites that just ignore or delete links quick. I think the key is timing and quality of sites u target, not just the dead links. Sometimes it's better to build legit relationships than rely on this tactic alone.

thanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it. yeah i think i might be missing some personalization in my outreach, that makes sense. will try tools like ahrefs more too, maybe i just need to target better sites and craft better msgs. still curious if u all see good results with this tactic in 2023 or if its kinda dead?

bruh I tried using brokenlinkcheck.com last month and it was a nightmare to sift through all the dead links that weren't actually worth the effort lol.

spot on, but I think it's more about the approach than the tool. if you filter out the obvious dead ends first, it can still be decent. just gotta be strategic with the outreach.

nah I get that but honestly, sometimes I just ignore the dead links that are old or kinda sus and focus on the ones that seem fresher or have some activity. makes it a bit less painful lol. no point wasting time on links that are basically relics. lol

different angle: maybe focus on quality over quantity, fr. instead of chasing every dead link, target ones that are more relevant and have some juice left. the flops usually come from just throwing at everything and hoping.

Ever had a flopped broken link gig and then found a hidden gem? I did once, chased a ton of dead links, almost gave up but then found a niche site with legit juice still flowing and scored big. Sometimes it's just about digging a lil deeper than the obvious.

lol you ever tried combining broken link building with some content upgrades? maybe that could give those dead links a second life?

3 out of 5 times broken link stuff flops, ngl, but sometimes you hit gold when you keep at it. maybe switch up the niche or try content upgrades to breathe new life into those dead links. stay chill, it's part of the game.
