so i posted about this a while ago, how everyone swears broken link building is the holy grail for backlinks. did a proper campaign last month, reached out to tons of niche sites, found a bunch of dead links, replaced em with my stuff. expected a big boost. nope. nada. rankings barely moved. even with some decent outreach, the CR was abysmal. everyone makes it sound so easy, like just find broken links, pitch, bam, backlinks. but reality check, it's a grind. some links are dead for ages, site owners don't reply and even when they do, they might not replace em. i get it, it's white hat, good for reputation, but damn, the ROI on my time was close to zero. wondering if anyone else had a better experience or just got burned too? honestly, still skeptical about this method being a legit long-term play, at least for me.

smh yeah that's the harsh truth most ignore, finding active sites willing to swap links is like pulling teeth and the ROI just ain't there if you ask me, too much grind for tiny wins.

yep exactly, makes it sound like a quick win but in reality it's just a lot of dead ends and patience. most of the time it's just noise.

spot on, so do you think the whole broken link building thing is just dead weight now or is there a way to do it smarter?

appreciate the input, guys. yeah, maybe there's a smarter way but i dunno, seems like just another time sink. honestly, i might just focus on stuff that's more predictable, like guest posts or outreach with better ROI. if anyone cracks a better method, lemme know, i'm all ears.

60% of broken link efforts I see seem kinda pointless tho, smh. Did u find a way to actually get backlinks from it or just wasted ur time?

last month i tried it again and honestly it felt like a waste of time. most links are dead or the site owners dont even reply. how do ppl still swear by it?

Honestly, you gotta verify those broken links first before wasting your time emailing site owners. Most of the time they're outdated or not even relevant anymore. And yeah, I found out it's better to focus on actual content outreach instead of just chasing dead ends.

different angle: u ever think maybe the reason it feels like a waste is cuz ur not targeting the right links? like maybe u just finding dead links but not the ones worth replacing? idk lol

Ever tried focusing only on niche sites with high authority? Might be less grind and more gain if you target quality over quantity.

been doing this 3 years and honestly I think broken link building can be kinda hit or miss. yeah it's grindy, but if you focus on really niche sites with some authority, I've seen it sometimes work better than just mass outreach. kinda lowkey about the quality, not just the quantity. maybe it's about finding the right sites rather than just trying to get as many links as possible.

honestly haha, yeah, feels like chasing your own tail sometimes. Gotta ask if the juice is really worth the squeeze, right?

"Broken link building - my skepticism after trying it out" if u really wanna make it less grindy, try targeting sites with dead links on pages that are already link-rich (like resource pages). kinda like fishing in a smaller pond but with more fish. and don't forget to use tools that automate the initial find, saves time

was tryin it a while back, got a bunch of dead pages but no real link returns, so felt like just filling space. kinda just gave up after a bit, felt like luck more than strategy honestly

ever tried adding a little personal touch to your outreach? like a quick note about how you actually use the resource, maybe more than just pointing out the dead link? could help boost response rate, kinda.

yeah, 100% feels like luck sometimes. tried it a bunch, got some dead pages but no solid links back. maybe it's just me, but feels like shooting in the dark a lot lol
