Are VPN protocols really worth the hype for black friday deals?

Everyone seems to rave about picking the 'best' protocol for max speed and privacy but honestly, I'm kinda skeptical. Like, OpenVPN has been the OG forever but WireGuard is supposed to be faster and more lightweight, right? But does it really matter that much for streaming or torrenting? I mean, I get some VPNs tout WireGuard as the holy grail but then I hear people complain about stability and privacy issues. So is it worth waiting for a big black friday deal just to switch protocols? Or are they all kinda similar in real world use? lowkey just wanna save cash but not sacrifice too much quality.

Last month i tried switching to WireGuard during a big deal but it was flaky on my setup, so I went back to OpenVPN. My tip - test both during your typical use before buying in bulk, ymmv but stability matters more than hype.

haha, VPN protocols are like dating apps, everyone swears by one but reality's messier. I had a totally different experience, WireGuard actually worked better for me than OpenVPN, faster and more stable, especially for streaming. So yeah, it's all about your setup and use case, don't buy into the hype w/o testing it first.

careful with thinking a big deal on a protocol switch is gonna fix everything. like, you're really only gonna notice speed differences if you're doing a lot of high-bandwidth stuff or live streaming. most VPNs put similar encryption on top of protocols so privacy isn't gonna change much, ymmv but for torrenting, stability and speed matter more than the protocol itself. so yeah, if

been there, lol. I switched to WireGuard recently for streaming and torrenting and was surprised how much smoother it felt. just goes to show, sometimes the protocols vary a lot depending on your setup and location. eta, test it yourself if you can during a deal, no harm in trying.

Last month I tried switching between OpenVPN and WireGuard during a Black Friday sale, and I swear my ping dropped from 80ms to 40ms. Apparently, WireGuard is like 4x faster and more efficient, so yeah, the protocols do matter if you're trying to squeeze max speed out of deals.

Last month I switched to WireGuard for a deal site and noticed my connection stayed stable even during heavy traffic. My tip: always test your VPN with the protocol you plan to use before the sale hits. Some protocols can cause slowdowns or disconnects when overloaded.

Honestly, I think the protocols matter less than your VPN's server load and stability during Black Friday. I've seen peeps obsess over OpenVPN vs WireGuard but end up with slow speeds because of overloaded servers or crappy ISPs. So imo, pick a solid VPN that handles traffic well, protocol be damned.
