Are link building agencies even worth it anymore or just a scam?

Are link building agencies even worth it anymore or just a scam?

Tried a couple agency gigs lately thought maybe I could scale faster get some good backlinks help my sites. But after spending a decent chunk of change what I got back was kinda sus tbh. The links looked spammy or just low quality some even PBN-ish and rankings didnt move at all. Feels like they promise the moon but deliver dust honestly. Checked the backlinks they got me and a lot are just crap no real juice. Everyone says white hat only but then the prices are wild idk. Feels like a total gamble now. Are they even worth it or just a scam? Or am I just unlucky? Would love real stories or advice on if I should just drop these and do manual outreach or build links myself instead.

just my 2 cents, i tried a few agencies too and got the same sus links, never saw real juice. spent $$$ and rankings stayed dead. manual outreach is def better imo, more control.

careful with those backlinks, bruh. if they look spammy or low quality, they prob won't do much good long term. manual outreach might take longer but at least u control what u get, not some crappy P

spot on. If you wanna avoid the spammy links and get some legit backlinks, check out HARO. It's a free resource that connects you with real journalists and bloggers looking for quotes and info. You pitch them solid content, and if they pick your piece, you get a backlink from a real site, not some PBN trash. kinda long-term but way more legit

honestly I think link agencies are mostly a gamble these days. I did the same thing, threw cash at some "white hat" dudes and got a bunch of suspect links that didn't do anything. My best move was just cold outreach to niche sites I actually follow, no BS, no PBN garbage. My one tip: focus on building real relationships instead of chasing quick links, that's what actually moves the needle.

Yo, OP, if you wanna cut out the middle man just do manual outreach, find blogs and sites in your niche and build real relationships instead of wasting cash on sketchy agencies. Trust me, long term that beats spam links any day.

You think it's just luck or are agencies really just turning into bigger scams? kinda feels like manual outreach is the only way to get real juice now.

I disagree, manual outreach is slow and takes mad time fam, especially if ur just starting. Sometimes u gotta gamble with agencies to test what works, then scale or do it urself. U really think manual is the only way?

last month I dropped a chunk on a "high-end" agency, same deal, backlinks looked spammy and rankings didn't budge. But did you actually mean to say you got low quality or "sus" links, or did you mean they promised white hat and delivered low quality? Just wanna clarify, cause there's a lot of noise rn.

Appreciate the tips, guys. HARO sounds kinda legit, tbh, might try that instead of those shady agencies. Manual outreach seems like the safer bet, even if it takes longer, better than wasting cash on junk links.

disagree, not all agencies are scams but a lot are garbage, gotta be picky and know what to ask for or you'll waste a ton of money.

Are you asking if link building agencies are scams or just not worth it anymore? There are legit ones but you gotta vet hard. Most of the time it's about knowing what to ask for and not wasting cash on garbage links lol

Ever hired a "top" link building agency and got a bunch of PBN spam? Yeah, that's most of the game now. Some legit ones are out there but you gotta dig through a lot of crap to find them. ymmv.

Yep, totally agree. Like 70% of agencies are just reselling PBNs or low-quality links. Do you have a checklist or some red flags you look for before pulling the trigger?

Bruh, I've had legit agencies crush it for me rn. They might seem sketchy but if you vet hard and ask for case studies, you can find some real ones. Just gotta know what quality links look like so you don't get played.

yo just my 2 cents, I think a lot of agencies are still trash and just resell PBNs or spam links. But I've seen a few legit ones that actually build real links, but you gotta vet super hard and ask for real case studies. Still, I stay cautious, fr

Bruh, link building agencies can still work if you pick legit ones and focus on quality, not just some cheap links.

Ever tried building your own links instead of relying on agencies? Sometimes handpicking sites and doing outreach yourself can save you a lot of cash and keep your link profile safe. Plus, you learn what actually works instead of throwing cash at random links.

lol honestly I think it depends. I've used legit agencies that got me real backlinks but yeah some are sus. Still, if you do your due diligence and focus on quality, it can be worth it. learned that the hard way with cheap links that tanked my rankings

One thing I found is that legit agencies that deliver quality backlinks see about a 20-30% increase in rankings within 3-4 months but only if you check their past results and reviews. I tried some cheaper ones and got burned, but paying for high-quality links from niche-relevant sites actually paid off in the long run.
