Amazon Associates - Still worth it or just relic of the past?

used amazon associates for years and tbh it's just not the same anymore. remember when you could make 200-300 bucks a day just throwing amazon links on random niche blogs? everything felt simpler back then, traffic came easy and the commission was decent enough to keep going. now everyone says its dead or not worth it and idk is that true? i tried starting a new site last month and made like 150 first week but it took so much more work and that was with a ton of social traffic. do you guys actually still make real money from amazon or is it just nostalgia? im so tired of hearing its dead or that you should quit but i still see some people doing alright. like what are the actual numbers these days? is it still a legit side hustle or just a legacy thing for the old timers? need some real talk not just the whole 'everyone's leaving' vibe. thanks

are those people reaaally making solid cash or just showing off a few hits? tbh, amazon affiliates are still around but it's definitely not the cash cow it used to be. most of the legit side hustle now is pushing for higher cpc or building an email list, not just slapping links everywhere. imagine doing all that work just to make 150 in a week, kinda shows how much harder it is now.

i think the secret now is niching down hard and building trust, not just throwing links everywhere. people are tired of the spammy feel and want legit recs, so if you can position yourself as a real resource instead of just another affiliate, ymmv. even with social traffic, it's about quality over quantity now.

Last month i made like 50 bucks on amazon with minimal social traffic, so do u think the game now is just really about how much trust u build and not spamming links everywhere?

different angle: maybe the game shifted from quick wins to slow steady trust building, so it's less about random links and more about niche authority now. those big payday days are rare unless u hit a really hot niche or product.

different angle: maybe the game shifted from quick cash to slower, more legit income streams. i've been in it for years and honestly it's about patience now. do u think if u put in the work on a niche site long enough, the steady commissions could add up to real money? or is that just wishful thinking?

just my 2 cents, yeah i think trust and niche authority matter more now. spam links might get u quick clicks but not consistent cash. gotta build that long term value, but honestly ymmv, lol. signing off, stay real out there.

Do you really think the game changed or just got harder for the lazy? affiliate life now is all about niche authority and patience, not quick hits.

last month i started a new niche blog and focused on evergreen content and after a few months the commissions are steady even with low cpc - it's all about consistent value over quick wins, bruh.

Different angle: maybe that kinda nostalgia is clouding the reality. sure, it felt easier back then, but most of that was just because the game was newer, less saturated. now the landscape's just more competitive, imo, not dead, just different.

people forget that the 'simpler' days were also filled with easier niches and less competition, now it just takes more skill and consistency, not impossible.

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciate the insights. Yeah I get that niching down and building trust is key now, I guess it's just more of a grind than before. 50 bucks isn't much but at least shows it's still possible if you play it right, right? feels like you gotta really be in it for the long haul now.
