My affiliate manager ghosted me after I followed his advice, what now?

I posted before about tracking lagging indicators, and someone told me to just trust my affiliate manager and ask him. So I did. I had a zoom call, he gave me a list of new offers to run and said to use his tracking link. Spent a week setting it all up, sent him my traffic sources for approval, and then... radio silence. That was 10 days ago. My emails just bounce, my DMs get read but no reply. I even tried the support ticket system and nothing. I'm out the time and I'm scared to spend money if he's not gonna answer questions. The data from the offers is starting to come in and it looks weird, way lower than he promised. I don't know if the network is bad or if I just got a bad manager. Is this normal? What do you guys do when this happens? Do you just jump networks? I feel stuck.

sorry but that just sounds like classic rookie panic. you spent a week setting up, sent traffic, and now you freak out over lower data? show me the numbers. if the offers look weird, maybe your traffic sources are off or your creatives suck. ghosting from an manager isn't normal but also not the end of the world. you jump networks or burn more time waiting for answers? waste of ROI. i'd focus on cracking your creative split tests and tracking accurately before blowing up your campaign.

Look, ghosting is the worst but this is not new in our game. Back in my day, if a manager disappeared after promising you the moon, you didn't sit around crying. You pivoted. You found another network, another manager, or just went direct. This whole "trust your affiliate manager" thing is a rookie move. You wanna rely on one guy for everything? That's asking for trouble. And about the data looking weird. Maybe your traffic is off, maybe your creatives suck, maybe your targeting is wrong. Or maybe that network just isn't what it claims to be. I don't care how shiny the offer looks, if the numbers don't match expectations, you stop and reassess. Don't get emotionally attached to one source. Jump networks if you have to. I've been there. No one's gonna hold your hand in this game.

Yeah, ghosting is a classic move from sketchy managers, not normal. You gotta remember this is a cookie-cutter industry sometimes. My advice, stop chasing that one network, pivot fast, and build a backup plan.

let me share a real story. back in the day, before all this fancy dashboard tracking and automated reports, we had to rely on gut and direct communication. now it's all digital and supposedly transparent but I've seen more ghosting in this industry than in a haunted house. most 'gurus' teaching affiliate marketing never ran a profitable campaign for more than 6 months, sooo they just regurgitate some script and move on. what I learned is you gotta build your own relationship, not just trust some manager who promises the moon. if they go dark, it's a sign they don't have your back or worse, they're not worth your time. you don't put all your eggs in one basket, you pivot fast. find a backup network, a new manager, or better yet, learn to read your own data and trust your instincts. ghosting is just a sign you're dealing with the wrong people. the real pros don't disappear - they fix problems or get you better offers. that's how you build smth real in this game.

You found another network, another manager, or just went direct
Jumping networks is fine, but it's not a magic pill. You gotta vet those new connections better, ask for proof of past results, maybe run a small test first. It's a game of resilience, not just quick fixes.

I don't know if the network is bad or if I just got a bad manager
Honestly, the network's probably fine, just your manager's flaky. This industry is full of excuses, always. Focus on the data, not the drama. If it looks off, dump him and move on, that's the only way to stay alive in this game.

My emails just bounce, my DMs get read but no repl
Bouncing emails and read DMs without reply? That's a huge red flag. If they can't even keep basic communication, what makes you think they're actually invested? I'll concede that sometimes networks can be flaky, but if they're not responding at all, they're prob not worth your time. You gotta remember, in this game, you protect your time and your budget. Ghosting is not normal, it's a sign you're dealing with someone who doesn't have your back. Cut your losses, move on, and find someone who respects your effort. Staying stuck with dead-end reps just burns you more money and frustration.

You gotta vet those new connections better, ask for proof of past results, maybe run a small test first
Yeah, I gotta call BS on that "proof of past results" stuff. If you're trying to scale fast, you don't have the time to vet every network like you're buying a used car. Sometimes you gotta take a shot and see if it sticks. The real test is if you can pull consistent data after you start. Asking for proof upfront is good for avoiding scams but not for catching a flaky network or manager. The game is about how quick you can pivot when things go sideways, not about doing homework on every offer. Small tests are fine but don't fall into analysis paralysis. If you jump networks and your data is off, then you switch. No amount of due diligence can prevent all bad actors or flaky managers. The key is setting tight KPIs and making decisions based on real results, not promises. Otherwise, you end up stuck in a loop of chasing ghosts and chasing your tail.

Here's the thing though, most affiliates over-optimize creative and completely neglect thier tracking setup so they chase the wrong CR or get spooked when data looks off but in your case, if your manager ghosted and the data is weird, it's probably not just network issues it's more likely a sign of a shady operation or just bad communication skills that shoulda been spotted early, jumping networks might seem tempting but honestly you wanna vet those new offers more before spending more time and money, if someone isn't replying to basic questions after a week that's a massive red flag and you should probably step back, analyze your data from other sources or networks you trust and if the situation doesn't improve, move on, because in this game your best asset is your confidence in your setup not chasing flaky managers who vanish into thin air.

Cool story. Ghosted managers are the PITA of this biz. Data looking weird? Drop the network if you can't get answers. TL;DR - trust the numbers, not the silence.

Cool story
Yeah, ghosting sucks but it's kinda common in this game, especially with new offers. I get it, you're worried about the data but sometimes you gotta trust your gut and pivot if needed. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, especially with sketchy managers. Keep testing and stay sharp, it all comes down to how you adapt.

My affiliate manager ghosted me after I followed h
So you're thinking the advice was the reason for the ghosting? Or maybe the affiliate manager just decided it was easier to vanish than explain why things aren't working out. Could be he had a bad day or maybe he's not worth chasing after. Sometimes it's less about what you did and more about how unreliable some of these folks are. Have you considered that maybe the advice wasn't the problem, but rather how they handle accountability?

The devil is in the implementation details. Ghosting might not be related to your actions but rather something on their side. Always remember, split testing is worthless without statistically significant data and proper tracking setup

Had that happen - turned out the affiliate manager was just waiting for me to chase him. Followed the data - not the guru and found a better contact. Don't chase ghosts, chase results.
