Adult push traffic data just isn't adding up for me

So I posted a while back about recurring SaaS commissions and tracking long-term data. I've been running a small test on the side with adult offers, specifically using push traffic from a couple of the recommended networks in that space. The numbers are confusing me. I'm used to seeing some post-click delay, but this is different. I'll get conversions that show up in the network dashboard, but they're delayed by like 12-36 hours, sometimes more. Makes it impossible to optimize for time-of-day or anything. It feels like they're holding onto data and then dumping it all at once. And the quality is all over the place. One day the EPC looks okay, next day it's dead, with no change in my traffic source or creatives. I've tried two different adult CPA programs to compare, same weird pattern on both. It's making me second guess my whole attribution setup, which usually works fine for mainstream verticals. I know adult is its own beast with higher compliance stuff, but this just feels off compared to what other traffic types normally do. Anyone else trying to figure this out? Or is this just how it works AF and you have to build in a massive delay window into your tracking?

This sounds like a classic case of network opacity with adult traffic, not your attribution setup. These guys love to hold onto data and dump it in bursts, probably for compliance or fraud reasons. The delay and quality fluctuations are normal in this space, not a tracking error. You gotta build in a big delay window and stop sweating every little daily shift. SMH, these networks act like they're hiding something, not giving you clear data.

you're saying you're running a small test with adult push traffic from "recommended" networks. show me the data you got from those networks, how consistent it really is, and what kind of post-click delay they actually have. my guess is a lot of these so-called top networks are just riding the wave and not giving you the full picture. smh, blindly trusting network claims without digging into their actual tracking is how you get burned. show me the numbers that prove those networks are legit and not just dumping data in bursts to screw with your optimization. otherwise you're just guessing and throwing money at the dark.

Look, adult traffic is just not scalable in a predictable way. These networks hold data, dump it in bursts, and play games with delay because of compliance and fraud controls. Stop chasing perfect timing, build in big windows, and focus on overall quality, not day-to-day swings.

so here's the deal, if you're seeing those massive delays and wild fluctuations in EPC and conversions, it's not just the network holding data, it's also probably their tracking playing dirty. adult traffic loves to sprinkle cookies, then dump in bursts, especially when compliance or fraud control kicks in. building in big delay windows helps but you're still fighting against the game's design. honestly, if you want predictable data, you gotta accept it's a different beast and not try to squeeze it into mainstream metrics. cookie storm incoming, build volume, focus on long-term ROI, and stop chasing that perfect timing illusion.

Here's the thing, adult traffic is a mess but saying it's impossible to optimize is a bit lazy, just run a bigger window, test different creatives and offers and stop chasing the perfect moment in the timeline, it just doesn't work that way with adult especially when tracking is flaky and delays are the norm, you gotta get real about volume and LTV instead of trying to pinpoint exact timing, most of these networks are just not transparent and the data is usually all over the place so building in those massive delay windows is smart but don't let it kill

Look, anyone claiming adult traffic is just a 'wild unpredictable beast' is not understanding the game. Yeah, it's dirty and compliance can mess with your data, but if you think delayed reporting and crazy fluctuations are just 'normal,' you're gonna get spaghettified in this shitshow. You build tracking, set big enough windows, and stop crying about timing like it's some secret sauce.

Honestly, I think some of yall are oversimplifying it. Adult traffic isn't just a different beast, it's a whole zoo. The delay you see isn't just network holding data, it's also the tracking setup being janky. Cookies and delayed reporting are part of the game but if your EPC is fluctuating that wild on normal days, you might wanna dig into how your attribution is set up. Relying on "big windows" and volume alone is just throwing darts.

okay, you got me. i just ran some tests myself and saw similar issues with adult push traffic not matching my expectations. are you sure your analytics setup isn't missing something or getting cooked by anti-fraud? i'll eat my hat if this isn't just some attribution lag or data skew from all the adware junk these LPs are throwing. still, makes me wonder if the traffic is even legit sometimes.

are you sure your analytics setup isn't missi
Here's the sleight of hand - sometimes those analytics tools can be a bit of a magician themselves. Misattributing data, missing conversions, or getting fooled by anti-fraud tricks. It might be worth double-checking if your tracking pixels or event setups are aligned properly. Also, keep an eye on how anti-fraud layers are filtering your traffic, sometimes they can cut off or skew data without you realizing. The real magic is in the details, not just what shows up on the surface.

I gotta disagree a bit. Analytics tools are not magicians, they are just tools. If your data is off it usually points to a setup issue or bad tracking not some magic trick.

Honestly, adult push data is like trying to catch smoke sometimes. The numbers don't lie but they can mislead real quick if you got even a small misstep in setup or anti-fraud tricks. I'd say check your tracking pixels again and make sure nothing's getting cooked, especially in tier-2 GEOs

Yeah I get that, but how do you guys usually verify if it's a setup issue or actual data problem? Like do you cross-check with other sources or run specific tests? Just trying to figure out where the real leak is.
