trying to outsource affiliate work and its a data disaster

okay, so i hired a virtual assistant to handle basic campaign setups. gave them a clear list of tasks, tracking templates, everything. they've been working for three weeks. just checked the stats dashboards across four different networks. the numbers are completely meaningless now. like, one campaign is showing conversions from a geo we aren't even targeting, and the ctr is somehow 0.5% and also 300% in different places? lmao what.
i need to know if anyone has found a way to lock down permissions so an outsourcer can only see specific reports or input data without being able to touch tracking parameters. i'm about to manually audit fifty campaigns cuz this feels like fraud but its probably just incompetence. someone point me at a network with actually functional user roles, please.

5% and also 300% in different places
Ok, here's the thing.. those crazy discrepancies are classic signs of tracking hell or maybe even the tracking pixel getting triggered from somewhere it shouldn't. Sometimes the pixels get double fired or the reporting window gets skewed by cookie issues. I've seen similar crap happen when permissions are sloppy or when multiple trackers run on the same page and clash. You gotta tighten up who can see what, definately lock down permissions if the network allows it. Some networks have granular user roles but most are still pretty basic, sadly. If you're dealing with multiple sources and weird stats, sometimes the whole tracking setup needs a rewire. Back in the day, we just used one tracker, one pixel, and made sure it only fired once. Now? it's a jungle, and the algo doesn't care about your chaos, it just reports what it gets.

Tracking hell is the default. If your numbers are that far off after three weeks with a VA, it's probably not incompetence, it's bad setup. The key mistake here is trusting any network's user permissions to prevent someone from messing with tracking parameters. Those roles are usually superficial, especially if the person has even minimal access. You need to lock down the tracking infrastructure itself, not rely on network permissions. Use a separate, dedicated tracking account with minimal access and only give your VA view-only permissions for reports. And run your own audits. Don't expect any network to solve this for you.

Exactly. Most networks' permissions are a joke. They give you a fake sense of control but in reality anyone with access can mess with the setup or data.

Hold up, sounds like a classic case of trusting permission settings on networks that are basically a cookie-cutter joke. Those dashboards are often a data swamp, especially with tracking pixels firing off from who knows where. Your best bet is locking down the setup outside of the networks, like using a separate environment or managing access thru a more controlled CMS or tracking platform.

so you outsource and expect clean data to just magically appear? citation needed. how are you tracking and verifying their data quality or cr your end?

you're not accounting for the fact that most outsourcers don't have the same understanding of your niche or tracking setup. data disaster is almost guaranteed if you're not managing their input and verification process closely. you need a strict, automated way to validate their data before it hits your dashboard. otherwise you're just spinning your wheels chasing bad info.

You'd know that if you ever ran a campaign. Outsourcing is just a fancy way of saying you wanna dump your mess on someone else and hope for the best. Data disaster is a direct result of poor communication and lazy tracking setup. You can't outsource intelligence or integrity.

show me the stats though cuz honestly most of the time when i see people complain about outsourcing data disaster its just because they havent set up their tracking properly or they just assume the outsourcers will handle everything perfectly which is never the case been there tested that if you want clean reliable data you gotta have a solid setup on your end first and then make sure your outsourcers are just following the process not running their own wild experiments w/o supervision if you rely on them to do the tracking and verification without any oversight it's just a recipe for chaos and wasted ad spend

Data disaster is what it is... most of the time it's just bad setup or no oversight. Outsource and you gotta have a tight LP, clear docs, and a whitelist process. Trust but verify, and don't assume they know your niche like you do. Brand bidding is a valid move if your legal team's tight, but if your data's a mess, scaling just makes it worse

Ah, the classic outsourcing nightmare. It's like giving your prized PBNs to a monkey and expecting Shakespeare.

If you think the data's a disaster now, wait till you realize most outsourcers treat your affiliate work like a side hustle rather than a full time gig. Unless you've got tight controls, a rigid process, and a healthy dose of skepticism, you'll be drowning in chaos before you know it. I'll die on this hill - outsourcing works only if you treat it like a covert operation, not a free-for-all.

lol yeah if you think its bad now wait till they start handling your ad spend too smh gg, outsourcing only works if you control every little thing but most ppl just throw money at it and hope for the best

Gonna jump in... outsourcing without a tight setup is like throwing a bunch of creatives at the wall and hoping one sticks. If your data's a mess, it's probably because you didn't set up your tracking right or you trust too much without oversight. Bro, control your flows, clean your docs, and don't expect magic. Outsource but don't abdicate - or it's just a money pit with a side of cringe.

l2p, data disasters happen when you don't have your tracking dialed or clean source feeds. outsourcing is a double-edged sword, gotta keep eyes on every step, or you end up with a mess. trust but verify, especially with partners who don't breathe your niche. you're gonna need solid docs, clear KPIs, and constant oversight. if your data's all over the place now, it's probably because you skipped the basics. no shortcuts here.
