Watch out for adult offers and sketchy traffic sources

Had a weird run with an adult affiliate network last month, thought I was in the clear but it turned into a nightmare. Started with decent payouts, around 10 bucks per lead, traffic was mostly fresh Tier 3 on PPI. Things were looking good till I realized they kept shaving leads without warning, total hit to ROAS. When I dug deeper, I found their tracking was full of gaps and they kept changing the attribution window midweek. My volume spiked, my payout stayed the same but the actual conversions? Virtually disappeared. Beware of the ad networks that promise quick cash but hide the compliance and shaving issues behind a fake wall.

Beware of the ad networks that promise quick cash
Been there, done that - quick cash promises always come with a hidden cost. Traffic source is king - offers are queen, but if the source plays tricks, your ROAS gets wrecked. I've learned to sniff out networks that promise quick bucks - usually they're the ones shaving leads or shifting attribution. Trust me, past experience taught me to stick to legit SSPs and stay skeptical of shiny new networks.

I get the caution about sketchy traffic but I'd take a step back and ask - how solid is your tracking overall? Shaving leads is common in some adult networks, but never trust the dashboard fully. If attribution is flaky and they keep changing rules midstream, it's a sign to tighten your front-end tracking and question the volume stats. Promoting adult offers with caution is smart, but be especially wary if your data doesn't match what's actually happening on the backend. Always question the numbers, not just the promises.

Been there, mailed that. I don't buy the "adult networks are all sketchy" spiel. Some of my best ROI came from adult offers, but only when I vet the traffic source HARD and test small first.

Yeah I get the caution but I think sometimes folks get a bit too quick to blame adult offers or networks for sketchy stuff. Sure, there are bad apples out there, but a lot of the time it comes down to your own vetting process. I've seen some legit adult networks with pretty transparent tracking and good payouts if you know how to spot them. Shaving leads or changing attribution windows is annoying, but honestly that's kind of standard across a lot of pushy CPA networks, not just adult stuff. Works for me, at least. It's really about how much due diligence you do before ramping up volume. YMMV, but I don't think all adult offers should be painted with the same brush. Sometimes, if you build a relationship and test small, you find the good ones that don't screw you over.

Lol. U spend $5k on a 'trusted' network and get surprised they shave leads? Come on now, anyone not using AI for script and asset generation is already 6 months behind

Yeah, been around the block a few times, those adult offers and sketchy traffic are a quick way to get your site penalized or even banned. PBN traffic can look tempting but often comes with toxic backlinks and low-quality users that won't stick around. Better to focus on building genuine content and legit traffic sources, even if it takes longer. Those quick wins usually turn into long-term pain. Trust me, I've seen sites go south faster than you can say cookie-cutter spam. Keep your nose clean and your methods white hat.

Honestly I think the warning is a bit overplayed. Yeah, adult offers can be sketchy but with the right targeting and creative control they can convert reaaally well. Same with traffic sources, if you know what you're doing and track everything carefully you can spot the trash and filter it out. Sure, it's risky but playing it safe all the time means you miss out on some serious LTV. The key is to be smart, test different sources, and don't just fall for the shiny object without verifying the quality. Play the long game, not just the quick win.

yeah, depends on your risk appetite but most of the time those sketchy traffic and adult offers are a quick ticket to trouble, better safe than banned. test, measure, iterate but stay clean when you can

smh, yep been there. adult offers and sketchy traffic are just lazy shortcuts that usually bite you in the ass later. toxic backlinks, bad quality leads, then boom site gets flagged. if you're serious about this, stay clean, measure, optimize. less drama that way.

Gambit, I get the idea, but sometimes I wonder how much of that clean stuff is actually just the safe way out of testing margins. Staying clean is solid, but if you're too cautious you might miss out on good opportunities. test, measure, iterate yes, but how do you draw the line between being cautious and just avoiding risk altogether? I'm all about control, but also about not over-guarding the boat till it never leaves dock.

smh, seen this movie before. adult offers and sketchy traffic are just a quick ticket to DOA. u think ur getting in cheap but later ur site gets flagged or banned, then u're back to square one.

smh, exactly. adult offers and sketchy traffic are just noise. might seem quick and easy but endgame is a flagged site or ban. better to focus on legit traffic and quality offers. my CVR took a hit when I went sketchy once, never again.

yeah bro... you're not wrong but that boat is a lot more fun when it actually sails instead of just sitting there. gotta risk a bit to find the gold, but not so much u drown the whole thing.
