trying to integrate custom proxy pool with scrapebox and failing spectacularly

why is my proxy authentication failing every single time when i try to plug a custom residential pool into scrapebox? setup works fine in other tools, lmao.
right, context. i built my own pool from a couple providers, about 5k ips mixed residential and dc, all authenticated via ip:port:user:pass format. works perfectly in puppeteer scripts and some python scrapers. but when i feed the same list into scrapebox's proxy manager, it just sits there spinning. connection tests fail, the logs are useless - just says 'proxy error'. no timeout settings seem to fix it.
i'm on three coffees and this is killing my morning workflow. data or it didn't happen but i have none because the tool won't even start. anyone else fought this specific integration? google's core updates are mostly just a game of footprint whack-a-mole for smart operators but this feels like a basic config issue i'm missing.

building your own pool from a couple providers with 5k ips in mixed residential and dc is a recipe for trouble honestly. most of the time those pools are riddled with bad proxies, flaky responses, or just outright spammy ones that some tools like scrapebox can choke on but puppeteer or python won't. if your other tools work fine it prob means scrapebox is way more sensitive to how proxies are presented or how authentication is handled. you might be better off with a smaller, more curated pool that's consistently reliable, rather than throwing everything in the kitchen sink. proven fact most big pools like that have a high bounce rate and a bunch of junk proxies.

Trust me on this one, scrapebox is finicky with proxy auth. The other tools you mentioned probably handle the authentication handshake better. Might be worth trying a simple socks5 or http auth test with a small proxy first.

Yeah, I've seen it before. Scrapebox's proxy auth handling is kinda hit or miss. Sometimes it just refuses to play nice, even with working proxies elsewhere. You might wanna try switching to socks5 if you're not already, or strip down your auth to just user:pass if possible. Also, double check the proxy format and make sure there's no weird whitespace or line breaks messing it up.

okay so i fiddled with the proxy port numbers, tried changing the order of username and pass, even slapped on some different timeout configs. nothing works. got a feeling scrapebox's proxy handling is just plain broken with this auth scheme, lol. might have to go back to good old socks or find a way to spin up a local proxy server that handles auth better. cool story, bro, but still no dice.

LOL, I feel u! That sounds like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Maybe it's just one of those days where everything refuses to play nice. Have u tried breaking it down step by step or maybe using a different proxy pool? Sometimes a fresh approach can save a lot of hair-pulling.

Proxy pools are like blackhat creative chaos. Maybe your proxies are too trash or Scrapebox just hates your vibe. Stop messing around and buy a legit one or rewrite your script until it stops crying.

Been there, spilled the coffee on the keyboard. Custom proxies and Scrapebox are like oil and water sometimes. Are you sure those proxies are clean and fast enough? Sometimes the simplest fix is just buying legit proxies instead of trying to hack your way thru. Show me the error logs, maybe there's a clue hiding in there.

Come on, now. If you think DIY proxies are going to save you, you're already lost. Scrapebox hates your vibe because you probably tried to cut corners. Either buy legit proxies or stop wasting time pretending you can DIY your way out of this. The only thing you're proving is you like banging your head against the wall.

That's a bold strategy. Custom proxies and Scrapebox are like cats and dogs, they often refuse to get along. Maybe try a different proxy provider or test with a small batch first, see if that gets you anywhere.

U ever notice how u spend hours trying to fix ur own proxies and in the end u just buy legit ones and save urself the headache? imo, life's too short for proxy drama.

Haha, yeah, I've been there. DIY proxies are like throwing darts blindfolded. Scrapebox is a savage sometimes, hates your soul if your proxies are crappy or inconsistent. Spend more time fighting with configs than actually doing anything useful. Just buy legit ones, stop trying to reinvent the wheel, right? Anyway, I'm too tired to troubleshoot this tonight. Might just throw more money at it and hope for the best, or pray my host survives the next google update. The hamster wheel is calling, gotta go.

proxies are like the wild west sometimes. you gotta ask yourself, is the headache worth it or just buy legit ones and move on. scrapebox will smh at you if your proxies ain't on point, no matter how much you tinker. stick to what works, man, DIY proxies are a gamble, plain and simple. prove me wrong.

So you're trying to integrate a custom proxy pool with scrapebox and it's failing spectacularly? Did you ever stop to think maybe scrapebox's proxy handling isn't the problem but your proxy quality or how you're managing the rotation? I've seen guys throw DIY proxies into the mix thinking more configs will fix it, but the real issue is those proxies are prob garbage or too inconsistent to play nice with scrapebox's session tracking. If your proxies are flaky or easily flagged, no amount of custom scripting will save you from that headache. Here's a question though: are you just trying to stick to DIY proxies because you think it saves money or because you want to control everything? Because in my experience, spending on legit proxies with solid rep and rotation is a net positive, especially if you're doing long scrapes or anything high-volume. The LTV of a good proxy pool outweighs the short-term savings by a mile. Are you really prepared to spend hours fiddling with configs and troubleshooting when the better move might be to just buy quality proxies and focus on scaling? Or is your plan to keep throwing spaghetti at the wall until it sticks?

Are you sure scrapebox even gives a damn about your proxy pool or are you just trying to fit a square peg in a round hole with DIY proxies? Sometimes the real problem is the config but maybe your proxies are just not worth the trouble from the start.
