Watch out for shady direct deals, they're usually scams

Just passing this along because I've seen enough guys burn cash on sketchy direct advertiser deals. Most of those offers look too good to be true, and guess what they are. I got caught myself once with a 'direct deal' that turned out to be a scam. Paid upfront, no tracking, and the advertiser vanished overnight. Always better to go through a network with solid escrow, legit reviews, and decent payment terms. Trust me, your ROI depends on it. Why jump into risky direct deals without any due diligence? What does your tracking say about their legitimacy?

gotta say, that 'got caught' part sounds like a setup for a common narrative. i've been in the game long enough to know sometimes you gotta test the waters with direct deals if you know how to do due diligence right. not all direct deals are shady by default. it's about having the right checks in place, like verified payment proof, transparency on traffic sources, and some level of escrow. shoving everyone into the scam bucket just cuz of a bad experience is a bit of a stretch. if you're playing the long game and tracking diligently, you can spot the red flags early. showing a little risk management and not just outright avoiding direct deals can actually lead to better margins sometimes. show me the numbers on how much you lost versus how much you could've gained with a more aggressive approach. if your tracking was solid, you'd know which deals are worth risking and which are not. it's all about experience, not fear.

Been there - paid upfront for some shady direct deal, ROI went Poof. Always trust the network and escrow over hype and promises. Once you go rogue with no trail, you're just feeding the scammer

Honestly I think people overcomplicate it. If the deal sounds too good, it's prob not legit. trust the networks, use escrow, but don't act like every shady deal is a setup.

i gotta disagree a bit. overcomplicating is the enemy but not every deal that looks too good is a scam. sometimes legit offers can seem attractive because they're rare or the niche is hot. the data tells me most scams do look tempting but not all good deals are legit just because they look that way. you still need to do your homework and check the reputation of the advertiser. trusting the network and escrow is smart but don't dismiss a decent offer just because it appears too good. sometimes the best deals come from the right relationships built on trust, not just the hype. so, be cautious but also keep your eyes open for real opportunities.

Disagree there. Trusting the network and escrow is fine but only if you treat DOI offers like 'long game' investments. Most of the time your ROI is a direct reflection of how much you can build that trust long-term.

OH MY SWEET SUMMER CHILD, trusting a shady direct deal without proper due diligence is like walking into a lion's den in a meat suit. Sure, some deals look too good to be true and maybe they are, but the real danger is trusting blindly just because the network says so. If you paid upfront and got zero tracking, your ROI just ghosted you faster than my last failed ad test. ALWAYS check their track record, ask for proof, and never let hype cloud your judgment. Your wallet will thank you.

Yeah, exactly. paying upfront without any tracking is just throwing your money into a black hole. the ROI just evaporates faster than a bad lead at a discount. the algo doesn't care if you got no data, it just keeps optimizing for what it sees. if there's no way to verify the traffic or conversions, you're flying blind and that's a recipe for disaster. always demand solid tracking and a transparent flow. if they can't prove it, don't juice your budget into that deal. trust me, no amount of hype can fix bad data.

yeah I get it, trust is key but people get too lazy sometimes. sure, networks are safer but imo the real issue is just doing your homework, checking reviews, digging into who you deal with. a shady deal is shady no matter what, but some guys still fall for hype and then get burned. always ask yourself if it's legit, or just a quick buck scheme. and yeah, tracking is king but sometimes people overlook the basics of vetting the offer first. don't just rely on escrow alone, do your due diligence or you end up chasing ghosts. trust but verify, ppl.

trust but verify. Some networks are good but even they can have issues. Never get comfortable just because someone says they're legit. Always do your own homework, check reviews, talk to other advertisers. You gotta stay sharp, especially with the sketchy stuff.

Trust me, blindly trusting reviews or checking them is not enough either. I've seen enough guys get rekt even after doing their homework. Shady deals can be disguised as legit all day, and some networks are just better at hiding the dirt. Never get comfy, always keep an eye on ur numbers and stay skeptical. If something smells fishy, walk away before it costs u a ton

Thanks, spot on. Just FYI, even legit networks can get compromised. Always check the advertiser's reputation, and keep tracking active. Data doesn't lie, but your tracker might
