Link building agencies, worth it or scam?

You know, this takes me right back to the early days when I first dipped my toes into SEO, back when the game was mostly about forums and directory links. I remember thinking, man, a good link was a good link, no fuss, no drama. Then came the agencies. Everyone hyped about them like they had the secret sauce. So I threw some money at a couple of these so-called link building pros, expecting magic, right? They promised 50 links a month, high DA, all white hat, no worries. Guess what? After six months, I got maybe 10 links that actually mattered, and my traffic was pretty much the same, if not lower because some of the links looked suspicious as hell in backlink analysis tools. It was a complete waste of time and cash, and I felt like I was back to square one only poorer. And the numbers tell the story. I paid upwards of 3k for that campaign, and the best I got was a handful of links that barely moved the needle. Meanwhile, I watched some creators I knew who built their own backlinks with legit outreach and niche edits. They didn't have agency overhead, just honest effort, and they saw results like a 30 percent lift in organic traffic within three months. It's wild how much better DIY or small-scale outreach beats the big agency hype, especially if you know what to look for in backlink profiles. Honestly, I think most of these agency pitches are just glorified link farms hiding behind a fancy veneer. They sell you the dream but deliver crumbs. It's a classic case of paying for the illusion of authority while getting little real ROI. The old-school tactic of building genuine relationships and guest posting on real sites still outperforms any PBN or purchased link scheme. The real magic happens when you align your outreach with authentic stories and create a seed campaign that makes the link naturally valuable. That's the stuff that sticks around long term, not these quick-fix agency schemes that leave your site looking suspicious and traffic stagnant.

yeah, back in the day it was pretty much a free for all, huh? forums, directories, all about volume not quality. then agencies came in with their shiny promises, like they had the holy grail. but in reality most just run the same playbook as everyone else, hoping for some miracle that never shows up. no surprise you got burned. the game's always been about knowing which links actually matter and doing the work yourself. agencies are just the middlemen trying to sell the same old snake oil with a fancy label. makes me wonder why people still fall for it.

yeah but here's the thing, most agency links are just glorified spam farms hiding behind a veneer. imo, if you want legit results, do your own outreach or niche edits, no shortcuts. paid links are a gamble, and most of the time, they don't move the needle unless you're lucky or got a huge budget.

lol, nobody wants to hear it but link building agencies are just glorified spam farms with a fancy website. the data doesn't care about your feelings, 50 links a month sounds sexy until you realize 90 percent of those links are garbage. paid links are like cheap roids, sure you might see a quick bump but the long term ROI is trash. i've seen legit outreach and niche edits deliver 30 percent lift in 3 months, while agency links barely move the needle. if you think paying 3k for crumbs is worth it, you're just coping with bad SEO habits

RIP to all these agency hype posts. I've seen enough to know most of them are just spam farms in disguise. You pay 3k for 50 links, and 40 of those are trash, then they wonder why your traffic doesn't budge. I'd rather put that money into legit outreach, niche edits, or even better, creating actual content that earns links naturally. Numbers don't lie, I've seen sites squeeze juice out of outreach and niche edits with way better ROI than trusting some slick agency promises.

You know what this reminds me of? The old scam of the year in CPA land. People think paying for links is like buying a lottery ticket with guaranteed ROI.

paid links are like cheap roids, sure you might see a quick bump but the long term ROI is trash
Paid links are like cheap roids, sure you get a quick boost but it's a short term fix that always backfires. long term ROI? trash. search engines catch on, penalties come, and then you're left with a busted site, wondering where all that quick cash went. the real LTV comes from legit outreach, building real relationships, and earning backlinks that actually stick. agencies selling fake authority are just playing a game of smoke and mirrors, and most of the time, they're just reselling scraps. if you want sustainable growth, forget the quick fix hype and learn to do it yourself or outsource smartly. the only ROI that matters is the one you control, not some agency's quick buck scam.

Link building agencies, worth it or scam.
most agencies are just tiered links farms or spamming your money, but if you find one that does real outreach and guest posts, it can be worth it. just don't expect miracles and always check the links they deliver.

i think bolt is a bit too optimistic. most so called outreach agencies still just do some tiered bs, and the so called "guest posts" are mostly on crap sites. if you want real links you gotta do it yourself or find a tight niche agency that really has vetted sites. numbers don't lie, most of those outreach firms are just reselling cheap links. be careful with that, or you'll waste money fast.

Most agencies are scams, no way around it. Look for real outreach not cheap tiered links. But even then CR matters more than just getting links. You gotta know your blended CPA. Links are just part of the puzzle.

link building agencies can be worth it if they do genuine outreach but most are just tiered links farms. dont expect quick wins or spammy links to do much long term. focus on the quality of links and the relevance to your niche not just the numbers. always check their outreach method and ask for real examples or case studies. numbers and relevance matter more than the agency's pitch.

man I think a lot of these agencies are just a gamble honestly some do real outreach but most are just tiered links farms or they spam your money and trust me the quality of those links is trash long term the real key is knowing how to do outreach yourself or finding someone who does it well cause if you get legit backlinks from relevant sites it pays off way more than just throwing a bunch of cheap links at the wall and hoping for the best. still believe facebook is king for cpAs but gotta keep your link game tight if you want to scale without nuking your accounts

Been there. I found that some agencies that focus on genuine outreach do better long term, even if the initial results seem slow. Not all tiered links are trash, some can hold value if done right, but most of my trouble comes from agencies overselling their "quality" while delivering tiered or spammy links. Trust me, you gotta test and verify their links, not just take their word for it. Always keep your eye on the actual link quality and relevance, not just the numbers
