VPNs audited? Spoiler: They ain't all truthful

ok so i checked out those new 'independent audits' for some popular VPNs and honestly the results are as clear as mud. take one of the 'top' ones that says it keeps no logs - their audit claims no logs but i spotted a tiny clause about keeping 'usage data for 30 days' like come on. then another that brags about encryption? their audit report is just their own marketing stuff copied over, no real security tests or vuln scans. feels like they paid for a quick pr thing not an actual audit. and get this - some audits are just self-reported with zero third-party checking. so basically you're just trusting the company's word which is like having a fox watch the henhouse lol. if you care about privacy don't fall for the hype. do your own research and stop thinking these audits are anything more than a corporate high-five.

2/3 of VPN audits I looked at last year seemed legit, not perfect but at least some real testing. i think some of these audits are better than nothing, especially if they involve third-party testers. don't you think? some trust is better than just winging it.

Careful with trusting those audits too much, I remember once I saw a VPN claim no logs but then found a clause about storing connection times for a month. Ever checked out one where the audit was just a quick paper and nothing real behind it?

Check out privacytools.io. They do some decent research on VPNs and highlight which ones have real audits and which are just marketing fluff. can save you from wasting time on fake claims lol

different angle: yeah, i get all that but i think some of these audits at least put pressure on VPN providers to be more transparent. even if they're not perfect, they kinda set a baseline. fam, just don't rely 100% on audits, do your own digging too, like checking privacy policies and user reviews.

Different angle: yeah, I get it but even if audits suck, they put some pressure on these guys to maybe clean up a bit. not perfect but better than blind trust. still, gotta stay cautious rn.

Careful with thinking audits mean anything solid bruh, most of the time they just a show to keep the hype going. don't rely on them too much, do your own digging or you might get played.

Different angle: I get the skepticism but maybe these audits at least force VPN companies to be more careful with what they claim. even if they're not perfect, they kinda push for some level of accountability. ymmv but it's better than just trusting blindly.

bruh, if you really wanna cut through the BS and verify VPN security, check out something like ipsec or qvpn reviews - those usually dig deeper than some fancy report.

honestly lol VPN audits, more like bedtime stories. I once trusted a big name and it sold my data faster than I could blink. now I stick to the small legit ones, at least I know they aint lying.

lol bruh, I had a totally different experience tho. some VPNs actually did legit audits and showed their logs and policies openly. always check if they publish real audit reports, not just claims. that way I know if they really worth trusting or not

lol bruh, for real. if you wanna see legit audits, check out "Freedom VPN" or "ProPrivacy" reviews. they actually test and publish real audit reports sometimes. better than just trusting random claims.
