VPN for China / restricted countries - update on recent tests

ok so posted about vpns for china before but just wanted to drop a quick update. tried a few more lately and tbh some actually worked better speed and stability wise on mobile. surfshark still decent for geo-unblocking but speed dips after you first connect. nordvpn is hit or miss like sometimes its flawless other times it just cant get past the censors. still no perfect fix but the newer obfuscated servers are helping a ton. if you need steady streaming or just browsing you really gotta try a few yourself. anyone else got new tips or having better luck recently

careful with relying too much on VPNs in restricted countries. speeds can change fast, and censors get smarter. still, good to keep trying different ones, especially obfuscated servers. no magic fix yet but some get better lately.

spot on. I've found that switching servers every few days helps avoid detection and keeps speeds decent. I've also seen some stability with about 60-70% success rates using VPNs with stealth mode enabled, but it's always a gamble depending on censors' updates.

just my 2 cents, try out Lantern if you need something more steady, especially for streaming or browsing in China, it's been pretty reliable for me lately.

Lantern huh? Tried it once during a trip and it was the only thing that stayed kinda steady. Smh, wish I had known about it earlier.

Honestly, I had totally different luck with Lantern, it was a nightmare for me, kept dropping connections smh, wish I had better advice but I guess everyone's different with these

yo, appreciate the tips guys, switching servers more often is a good call, never thought about that. lantern? interesting, gotta check that out, thanks for the heads up. still trying to find that sweet spot but yeah, no magic fix atm, just gotta keep testing.

Had a buddy try NordVPN in China recently and got decent speeds but sometimes it kept disconnecting, so he switched to Express and it's been more stable but slightly slower. I think it's all about ping and how their servers are optimized for those regions. Sometimes the best option varies day to day depending on load and

just my 2 cents, I dunno if switching VPNs always fixes disconnects, sometimes it's about the server or network issues on China's end. kinda depends on the time of day too. so maybe try different servers first before switching brands?

yep exactly, switching VPNs aint always the fix, sometimes its just the network or server congestion. kinda random honestly, gotta try different times and servers.

Careful with just jumping servers, ymmv. sometimes it's not the server, it's the overall network stability in China. switching servers can help but don't expect miracles every time. sometimes you just gotta switch VPNs if the network's a mess

tbh "VPN for China / restricted countries - update on recent tests" last month I tried switching servers during different times of the day and still got cut off. do y'all think using a dedicated IP VPN might improve stability or is it just a shot in the dark?

I think switching servers isn't enough rn. You gotta get a dedicated IP VPN like NordVPN or ExpressVPN and enable obfuscated servers. That stuff helps hide the VPN traffic and makes it less likely to get blocked. Don't rely just on changing servers, u need stealth tech for China.

yo did you try using a dedicated IP VPN like Astrill? I've found it works way better for China and restricted countries. Also enabling obfuscated servers can help hide the VPN traffic smh.

Last month I spent like a week testing different VPNs in China and honestly, stealth tech didnt do much for me. I found that switching servers often worked better than relying on obfuscation alone. imo, it's more about finding the right combo of VPN, server, and timing than just stealth features.

87% of my tests last year, dedicated IPs with obfs worked better than just switching servers. anyone else notice that? or is it just me?
