Self-hosted VPN with WireGuard on VPS, security scare

been messing with self-hosted VPNs for a couple years, and honestly, security's always a cat and mouse game. i used to think just setting strong creds was enough but then learned social engineering and misconfigurations are where most ppl get burned. gotta stay alert and keep those configs tight, ymmv.

Careful with just focusing on the tech, smh. A secure VPN is useless if the user's phishing or weak passwords give away access. don't forget the human element always trumps tech in security.

 

[Strategy]

careful with acting like tech is the only risk, sometimes the biggest threat is just someone tricking you into handing over the keys.

yo thanks for the tips guys, good point about device security smh always forget that endpoint is just as important as the VPN itself and yeah rotating keys is a must, keep it fresh and less risky.
