Residential proxy costs per GB which provider is best?

tbh been testing a few residential proxies lately and trying to figure out the real cost per GB. some providers say they're cheap but then I see hidden fees or they throttle bandwidth. I ran speed tests on a few and here's what I got: provider A gives me about 1.2 MB/sec on average and it costs 50 bucks for 10 GB, so about 5 bucks per GB. provider B is a bit slower but costs only 3 bucks per GB, with speeds around 0.8 MB/sec. question is, am I better off with a slightly cheaper provider with slower speeds or paying more for faster proxies? I wanna make sure I'm not overpaying but also not sacrificing too much speed for scraping or anti-detection stuff. anyone done real cost/benefit breakdowns here?

ngl id say don't just chase speed and cost. sometimes paying a bit more gets you less hassle, better uptime, less throttling. if your proxies get throttled or hidden behind filters, it can kill your workflow even if they're cheap. lowkey, stability and legit IP pools matter more longterm than just a couple bucks saved

60% of the battle is just uptime and stability, not speed. Pick a provider with solid reviews on reliability over just raw numbers. If your proxies keep dropping or get throttled, all that speed doesn't matter much

Haha, so basically it's a speed vs. stability game and no one really knows the real deal huh? gotta pick your poison.

exactly, in this game uptime and stealth matter more than just speed or price cause if they get filtered or throttled all that bandwidth is useless wanna find the sweet spot between cheap and stable or you're just burning cash for nothing trust me been there done that peace out

yep exactly, i remember testing a provider that was fast but kept dropping connections all the time and ended up costing me more cause i had to rerun stuff or switch proxies constantly. sometimes cheaper slower proxies end up saving more time overall cause they stay stable longer.

so true, gotta find that balance or ur just tossing $$ down the drain, stability over speed usually wins in the long run.

bruh, speed is cool but if your proxies drop more than your WiFi, that cheap speed don't mean squat, right? gotta pick what works steady, not just fast.

careful with that, I tested a 'cheap' provider that was like 0.6 MB/sec and it stayed stable for hours, while the 'fast' ones kept disconnecting every 10 mins, cost me like 20 bucks

You ever think maybe it's not just about speed but stability? I've seen some cheap proxies that are slower but hold steady, while the fast ones keep disconnecting. Honestly, I'd pick the reliable one over the speed if it's more consistent.

last month i was looking at costs too, oxylabs was around 7-12$ per GB but geo and speed can change that. how much are you seeing on average? ymmv but most seem to hover between 5-15$ depending on provider and plan.

Check out the providers' geo coverage and speed first, costs can vary wildly even if the GB rate looks decent. Do you really need high-speed proxies or just cheap ones? ymmv but don't assume cheapest equals best for your use case.

spot on. always good to keep these in your bookmarks. quick tip: use a proxy comparison tool or keep a spreadsheet with geo, speed, and cost data to spot the best deals quickly instead of rechecking each time. ymmv but it saves a ton of time

Yep exactly. I've tried both and honestly, for scraping and basic stuff, cheap proxies work fine. But if you need stability or less risk of getting banned, high-speed ones are better. It depends on your use case, fam.

ngl just my 2 cents, sometimes the cheapest can surprise you and actually do the job fine if your use case isn't super heavy or sensitive but yeah ymmv if you need stability or legit quality then yeah you
