Mullvad, the privacy VPN nobody talks about anymore

Remember back in the day when VPNs were kinda rough around the edges? Not just in setup but in how they handled speed and privacy. I mean, I've been around the block enough times to remember when OpenVPN was king but painfully slow on some servers, especially if you wanted decent privacy. Mullvad kinda flies under the radar now but I got to say, it's still one of the few I trust for real privacy and simplicity. Used it last week for a speed test, and got about 200 Mbps on a 1Gbps line, which is pretty solid considering how many VPNs choke the bandwidth. They run WireGuard by default now which is a, I'm seeing lower ping and faster speeds everywhere. The best part? They don't keep logs, and you pay with cash if you want, no email required. It's like the old days when privacy was king and VPNs weren't just a checkbox. Still, most folks go for flashy interfaces and bigger brands but forget about the basics like privacy and speed. Anyone else still running Mullvad? Would be cool to compare notes on how it stacks up today, especially for streaming or torrenting. Lately I've been experimenting with self-hosted solutions but sometimes you just want a simple, no BS VPN that gets outta your way. Mullvad still feels like that, lol.

Man, remember when VPNs felt like hacking into NASA just to get a decent connection? lol. Mullvad still holding it down for privacy junkies or is it just nostalgia?

try switching to WireGuard on Mullvad if you haven't already, it really kicks the speed up and keeps the privacy tight, trust me, it's a especially for streaming or torrents. You ever notice how some of the flashy VPNs with all the bells and whistles still drop the ball on actual privacy?

honestly been doing this 15 years, WireGuard on Mullvad is legit, speeds are solid and ping drops are noticeable, especially for gaming and streaming.

just my 2 cents, flashy interfaces are cool but most of them cut corners on privacy once the marketing stops. if you're serious rn about privacy, stick to the no-nonsense stuff like Mullvad

Thanks for the shoutouts, guys. Yeah, WireGuard on Mullvad is a, especially for streaming and gaming, I agree. It's wild how they kept that privacy angle but upped the speed game lol. And no logs, that's what keeps me hooked.

just my 2 cents, Mullvad still underrated but solid for privacy freaks. I've been using it a while and its no-logs stance and flat fee structure keep it trustworthy in my book. nobody really mentions it anymore but it does the job.

Actually, I think Mullvad still under the radar for a reason. They've got a track record of not keeping logs since 2014 and their flat fee of 5 euros/month means no churn for upselling or throttling. If you check the VPN review sites, their privacy score hits 9/10 almost every time, but I rarely see it pop up in the mainstream VPN chatter anymore. Makes me wonder if people just moved on or they got complacent.

Maybe both honestly, or maybe people just found other options that feel flashier but Mullvad's still solid if privacy matters more than hype. I switched to IVPN recently, similar vibe but with multi-hop options and better app simplicity. ymmv but sometimes sticking with the quiet ones pays off.

bruh, maybe ppl just tired of hearing about it, but if it aint broke why fix it? sometimes low key is better.

yeah, I think the hype kinda died down cuz ppl got used to the idea that you don't always need a flashy VPN, just one that keeps your stuff safe. Mullvad's been chillin in the background doing its thing, which is kinda refreshing in a sea of VPN marketing noise.

Disagree, do people even really know what Mullvad's doing behind the scenes anymore? Seems like everyone just moved on to the next shiny thing, but how secure is it really if nobody checks in?

tbh haha, yeah exactly, sometimes the quiet ones are the best. Mullvad just keeps it simple and no fuss, no drama. That's the kinda VPN I trust when I wanna stay lowkey.

just my 2 cents, I think Mullvad still flies under the radar but it's actually solid. They've been consistently logging zero traffic data and their open-source approach is rare in the VPN world, which gives me some confidence. Fwiw, their monthly users have been creeping up slowly but surely, around 400k now, so not exactly dead.
