Ghosting AFMs - a weekly horror story

So I decided to chase some new networks, maybe find a fresh manager or two. First few weeks, everything's smooth, leads hit the back end, payments are on schedule, happy days. Then suddenly, poof, they vanish. No replies, no emails, not even a polite no thanks. Just dead silence like I've got the plague. Had a couple of calls scheduled, promise to get back, never do. Must be a new trend - ghosting as a service. Thought I was signing with legit pros but nope, just amateurs with shiny profiles. Lesson learned: do not trust the nice smile in the chat. The only thing I'm ghosting now is my enthusiasm. If you're planning to work with these clowns, don't say I didn't warn ya

I see what you're saying about the ghosting... but honestly, if you're surprised that some new networks or managers turn out to be amateurs or flaky, maybe you should check the fine print on the vetting process. Ghosting is the norm in this game sometimes, especially if you're rushing to expand fast without proper due diligence. The real lesson is probably not about the clowns but about your own risk management. If you're gonna bet on new players, gotta accept the front-end risk - churn, no-shows, the usual.

okay but where's your data on how many of those networks actually deliver quality leads before they ghost? yapping about flaky pros as if it's just part of the game is lazy. ghosting is the symptom not the cause, maybe start vetting smarter instead of whining about it. if you think ghosting is some new trend you're just asking to get played again. i'll believe it when i see the csv that shows actual conversions from these "legit pros" before they vanish.

here's my two cents. Ghosting is just part of the game right? No, it's a sign you didn't do your homework. I've been burned by flaky networks and amateurs before, learned the hard way. If you're not vetting like a pro and running due diligence on their history and past campaigns you're just asking to get burned.

No, it's a sign you didn't do your homework
homework is just a fancy word for guessing better than the next guy lol if you think you can do some quick googling and spot legit from fake good luck. this biz is all about the grind not homework. if you want to stay alive you gotta be ready for the ghosting, the BS, the fake pros. building some fake trust just to get burned is the game. real pros know it's all about the ROI not some shiny profile.

Must be a new trend - ghosting as a service
I don't think ghosting as a service is a new trend, more like the same old flaky behavior just easier to scale. Some networks just get good at disappearing once they see you're serious, maybe to avoid more work. But to say it's a service? That sounds like a stretch. In my experience, ghosting is usually just lazy or unprofessional people, not some organized service.

is it really ghosting or just bad tracking attribution getting in the way, you ever check if those leads are getting lost somewhere in the funnel before they hit your radar?

ghosting stories are the worst but sometimes it's just the tracking playing hide and seek. people drop off, data gets lost, or the lead gets eaten by the funnel before it hits your radar. gotta keep an eye on the flow and not just the last pixel. otherwise it's all just guesses and ghost stories.

Hard disagree with Gable. If leads are truly ghosting, they are not just lost in the funnel or tracking. People bail without a trace for reasons outside your pixel or attribution issues. Most of the time it's about your offer, creative, or targeting, not some fancy funnel bug. Tracking problems are a convenient excuse but rarely the real culprit.

Been there, tested that ghosting is just part of the game but sometimes you gotta look beyond the funnel and see if your offer still hits right with the audience Low CTRs and poor engagement can make it look like ghosting but really its just bad match or low value based on what they want right now

Sorry to break it to you but ghosting ain't always about the offer or targeting. Sometimes your traffic just decides to ghost because your creatives suck or your angle is tired-ass. People are picky and if you ain't split testing creatives at least 3-ways, you're just throwing money into the wind. The funnel's not magic, it's a reflection of your entire campaign, landing, angles, audience. Blaming tracking or attribution every time is a cop-out. The numbers don't lie, and if you're not trying different angles, you're just donating money to ad networks. Remember that

Sorry but I gotta disagree a little. Sometimes traffic ghosts because of creative fatigue or tired angles but if your offer and targeting are solid, ghosting usually points to a bigger issue like your funnel structure or timing. People don't just vanish for no reason, especially if the traffic quality is good. You gotta keep testing those angles but don't forget the basics - are your follow ups strong enough? If not, ghosting is just the price you pay for bad follow-up sequences.

RIP to all the lost leads out there... sometimes the traffic just ghosts for no damn reason other than the universe hates us. Creative fatigue is real but don't forget, some of those people just vanish into thin air for no logical cause

Haha ghosting AFMs - the ghost stories we all hate. Been there, tested that, sometimes you just gotta accept the traffic ghosted for no good reason. I swear some days it feels like the traffic just decides to ghost cause it's bored lol. Creative fatigue is real but if your funnel is tight, it shouldn't be that easy for them to vanish. Maybe timing or offer mismatch? Or the traffic just got tired of your face. Still, I'd wanna see some post-install events or LTV metrics before blaming creatives or audience. Ghosts are tricky, and sometimes they just haunt us for no reason at all.

Honestly, ghosting is usually not just about creatives or timing. Sometimes the niche just goes dead, or the traffic hits a wall and stops converting. You can tweak creatives all day but if the niche is dead, better look elsewhere before wasting more money.

hot take incoming: ghosting isn't always some deep conspiracy bro. sometimes traffic just decides to pull a Houdini and vanish. you tweak your creatives, you tweak your targeting, and still nada., if the traffic ghosts after a decent run, maybe the offer just didn't have the legs. people forget sometimes that the market is a fickle beast. niches get tired, seasons change, and even the best funnels hit a wall if the audience isn't feeling it anymore. no amount of creative sleight of hand can fix a dead niche. so stop LARPing about fixing creatives and start looking at the overall ecosystem. source: trust me bro, I've seen too many guys chase ghosts instead of real problems. if it's not the funnel, it's the market. if it's not the market, well... maybe it's just a bad day to be a marketer.
