Free VPNs: Are they really free or just free to sell your data?

been messing with free VPNs lately cause why not right. figured i'd get some quick private browsing for free but lol shoulda known. turns out the 'free' part just means they take your privacy instead of cash. they sell your data or spam you with ads like its nothing. you think youre hiding your ip or getting around blocks but nah theyre just giving your stuff to anyone who pays. kinda funny how they call it free when the price is your info or even malware smh. anyone else try this? waste time looking for a free one that doesnt screw you over? or are we better off just paying for a real one so you actually know whats going on

Been messing with free VPNs lately cause why not right? I get the curiosity but imo most free ones are just trading your privacy for free service. Some even have shady stuff going on behind the scenes. kinda makes you wonder if it's reaaally worth the risk when paid ones are transparent and safer.

I think some free VPNs do actually respect privacy but u gotta dig deep and read reviews. Ever found one that surprised u by being decent or do they all just turn out to be the same?

85% of free VPNs are trash, just reselling your data. if you gotta try one, use a reputable review site and look for ones that are transparent about their policies. better off saving for a legit paid VPN if privacy matters. cheap ones are often just as shady tho

last month I tried a couple free VPNs just to test my own experience and honestly I didn't get sold on the data selling thing right away. maybe some are shady but I found a few that seemed legit, no ads or selling my info. tbh I think it depends on the VPN, not all are crap. sometimes you gotta test and do your own digging, not just assume all are trash. stay cautious but don't write off all free options just yet. peace out.

man yep exactly fam, most free VPNs are just middlemen for selling data or spamming. hiding your IP ain't the real deal if they keep selling your info behind the scenes.

yep exactly, most free VPNs do sell your data, but Proton VPN is legit and doesn't log or sell your info. kinda more reliable rn if u want free and safe.

last month i tried a free VPN and felt so uneasy, like they were always watching. ngl, makes me wonder how many really stay legit. do u think Proton's just an exception or are there others like it?

Spot on, those free VPNs that feel sketchy usually are. You just gotta watch out, most of 'em aren't really safe, even if they say they are. Proton is one of the rare legit ones, but yeah, a lot of 'em just want your data.

you think any free VPN can really be safe or are they just hiding somethin? idk man, always feels kinda sus to me. Keep it real.

last month i tried a free VPN just for kicks and honestly, it seemed legit, no data selling signs so far, maybe some are better than the horror stories we hear

Bruh, tbh, I think some of these free VPNs actually do what they say, but you gotta pick the right ones. I tried one too and was surprised it was kinda decent rn.

According to some reports, over 80% of free VPNs are shady at best. I dunno, feels like the risk is high when they're giving you a service for free, and most probably selling your data or injecting ads. I'd rather pay a bit for a legit one than trust some random freebie.

Most free VPNs are just data mines in disguise, but some actually do a decent job if you dig deep enough. Ever found one that surprised you by not selling out?

Yup, I actually used one for a while that never showed ads or sold data, but then I caught wind it was pretty bare bones and slow. Smh, no free ride is totally clean, just some hide the dirt better
