Email marketing for affiliates still worth it or dead?

Email marketing for affiliates still worth it or dead?

Been messing with email promos for a bit now, and honestly curious if it's still worth the hassle. Did a test last month sent out 3 campaigns, total reach around 20k sus. Got about 2.5% open rate, CTR hovered around 1.2%, conversions? Like 0.3%. Ended up pulling in roughly $600 for the month. Not mind-blowing but steady. Meanwhile, I tried a different approach same list, but shifted to a more personalized story-based email sequence. Open rates jumped to 4%, CTR shot up to 2.5%, and conversions doubled to 0.6%. Revenue? Hit around $1,200. Just a small sample but it got me thinking. Is email still a viable channel or just a dead zone now? Curious about what others are seeing in 2025, esp with all the social, TikTok, and fleeting traffic sources. Still worth stacking email in the mix or better to dump it?

bruh, 2.5% open, 0.3% conversions. sounds kinda dead to me. but then again, bumping to 4% open and doubling conversions with story emails? maybe there's still life, but gotta wonder if the effort vs reward makes sense long term. social might be flash, but email? that's the slow grind. keep stacking it or drop? not sure, but seems like only the ones who get personal and keep testing see real gains. just my two cents

are you really getting steady results tho? i mean, 600 bucks from 20k sus ain't that hot, even with a bump in open and CTR. like, i've seen some affiliates pull 2-3k a month with small lists if the offer's hot, so maybe email isn't dead but def not a goldmine anymore. i'd focus more on optimizing those conversions if you wanna keep it alive.

Actually, if we look at the numbers, a 0.6% conversion rate on a 20k list is still pretty rough no matter how you slice it. But that jump from 0.3 to 0.6 with story emails? that's legit. still not blowing up but it's a sign email isn't dead just yet, especially if you can tweak those sequences better. no way I'd dump it based on those results.

just my 2 cents, that $600 from 20k sus isn't super hot but not dead either. for me, email still works as a backbone, especially with storytelling tweaks. it's about what you scale and how you optimize.

lol, email still kicking but gotta admit, those numbers are kinda meh. like, if u got a 0.6% conversion on 20k sus, that's only 120 sales. not gonna retire off that, but hey, better than dead, right?

email open rates are still around 20-25% on average, which imo isn't dead. I had a buddy who just switched his entire affiliate biz to email last year and made more profit than he did in the last 2 years combined. smh, I think some folks underestimate the power of a well-timed email still.

Is it really dead or just tired and in need of a refresh? Email's still got potential but ya gotta keep testing and evolving, or you'll be left in the dust. The open rates aren't

Careful with assuming email's still hot w/o changing your approach. Wanna stand out? Use segmentation to target smaller groups with hyper-specific offers, way better open rates and less spammy.

Thanks for the input, guys. Yeah, email ain't dead just lazy, gotta keep testing and freshening up stuff. Segmentation is king, for real, helps avoid spammy feel and boosts open rates. Keep at it.
