Adult traffic - why my ctr/conv ratios are all over the place

ngl hey need some brainpower here. So im running adult offers on native pop traffic, been tracking for like 3 weeks. My main source is plugrush, some exoclick but not much. The weird part is my ctr is like 1.8-2% which feels decent but conv rate is all over the place. One day i get like 0.07% cr, next day 0.02% then back up again. The offer is a kinda mainstream dating cpl from a decent network, payout is 4.50 a lead. Using a cloak (trafficarmor), a simple pre-lander with a clear cta, tracking everything with bemob. My bids are optimized, geos are tier 2. So why would ctr stay kinda stable but conv just nosedives randomly? Are adult networks shaving that bad or is my lander just not matching the traffic source intent? Also, anyone know other adult traffic sources that aren't total junk? Heard trafficstars might be better for tier 1 but idk. fwiw im spending like 200 a day trying to make it work. To give some context, my usual vertical is nutra so this adult stuff feels like a totally different beast. I see ppl bragging about steady 3-4 roi but my numbers just aren't sticking. Is it a traffic quality thing or maybe the offer just sucks? Maybe my pre-lander is too soft for that crowd. Tried a direct link for a day and conversions got even worse. Anyone else dealing with this chaos? What am i missing here, the audience seems hungry but they just don't bite past the click. Catch ya, keep those conversions clean.

Use a tool like Voluum for more granular traffic source analysis, it can help spot where the drop-offs are happening. Also, try splitting your landers with something more edgy or provocative, maybe your pre-lander isn't matching the vibe.

ever thought about testing different pre-landers or even direct linking on some geos? Maybe your audience's intent is just not matching the offer, so tweak that first.

ever thought about the possibility that your tracking or traffic source might be giving you skewed data? I've seen stuff like that happen before where the numbers look good but the quality is just not there. YMMV but sometimes switching up the traffic source or even doing a quick test with a fresh, clean tracking setup can shine some light on what's really going on.

ok so careful with cloaks like trafficarmor, they can sometimes hide the true quality of traffic, leading to skewed conversions. I've seen cases where cloaked traffic shows decent CRs but real user intent is way off, especially in adult. Tracking with bemob is good but make sure your post-click tracking matches the traffic source sometimes the redirect chain or cloaks mess with data accuracy. Could be a quality issue from your source or offer mismatch try testing tier 1 sources like TrafficStars or ExoClick's premium inventory, but always verify the actual traffic quality before scaling.

Thanks for the tips guys, really appreciate it. Voluum sounds like a good shout, might help me see where the drop-off happens. I've tried different pre-landers but maybe I need to get more aggressive or provocative. Will also double-check my tracking setup, sounds like skewed data could be part of it. Cheers! Keep the hustle strong.

I've seen my CTR fluctuate like crazy too but I think it mostly depends on the ad placements and targeting. Sometimes it's just about testing different angles and offers till you find a combo that sticks. no way to get perfect ratios all the time.

i think CTR and conversions are more about audience quality than just testing angles. Sometimes you can get lucky with placements but still see weird ratios if your traffic's off. It's not just about finding the right offer.

Ever noticed your ratios get all wonky on certain days or times? I once saw mine tank when I was running traffic during weird hours and forgot to check the targeting. Do you track those patterns or just go with the flow?

ever feel like adult traffic is just a wild card? I once had a campaign where CTR was sky high but conversions tanked, turned out it was crappy landing pages, totally unrelated to the traffic. Sometimes the traffic source itself is the issue, or the offer just doesn't vibe with the crowd.

I disagree that adult traffic is always a wild card. Most of the time, the ratios go off because of audience targeting issues or inconsistent creative quality. You gotta keep testing and refining those elements, ymmv.

Ever notice how even with perfect targeting, sometimes your CTRs look like a rollercoaster and conversions just disappear? It's like adult traffic got a mind of its own rn. How much of this do you think is just bad traffic quality vs. bad offers? Or maybe we're missing some sneaky thing that's messing with ratios?

just my 2 cents, sometimes adult traffic really does feel like a total crapshoot, no matter how much u tweak. like, even when u think u got it dialed, the ratios flip outta nowhere. do u guys think it's just the traffic itself or somethin else?

Been doing this 3 years and adult traffic always feels unpredictable sometimes. One day CTRs look solid, next day cr drops to zero for no reason. Think it's just how volatile the niche is, u gotta keep testing nonstop.

just my 2 cents, had a run where my CTR fluctuated from 5% to 15% in a day and conversions went from 50 to 10. turns out adult traffic can be super sensitive to small changes in offer angle or even time of day, like a 2-hour shift can mess with ratios big time. never seen anything else like it in other niches.
