Pop/redirect traffic - still a thing or dead?

Man, I swear I remember the days when pop and redirect traffic was king. Everyone was crushing it with those splash pages and quick redirects. Now I hear tons of ppl saying it's dead, too risky, bad for conversions. But then I see some of the old timers still running them and getting decent cr. Honestly, I'm kinda stuck trying to figure if it's worth testing again or just a waste of time. YMMV, but do y'all think pop traffic still got some juice or are we better off just ignoring it?

Yeah, I remember hearing about some guys making decent cash with pop and redirect back in the day, especially when the offers were hot. It's definitely got a bad rep now and for good reason, but if you find a niche or offer that still converts and you're careful with the traffic sources, it might not be dead. YMMV for sure but I wouldn't dismiss it completely without testing a bit first.

Honestly I tried pop traffic a few years back and it was a total nightmare. One day it crushed, next day it got flagged or just tanked. YMMV, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it still being viable without some serious vetting

Spot on. I dabbled with pop traffic a while ago and honestly, it was a mixed bag. Some days it worked like a charm, other times it got flagged quick.

just my 2 cents, if u wanna test pop again, u might wanna check out poptraffic.io, they got some legit tools to kinda make it easier and less risky. But still, gotta watch those flags and keep an eye on your conversions. ymmv tho

Are you sure those people aren't just scared of the old school methods? YMMV, but if some still get decent cr, maybe there's still some juice in pop traffic if you know how to keep it clean.

Spot on, sometimes I think folks are just scared to admit they can't hack the new stuff so they cling to the old. I remember trying pop traffic back in the day and getting my IPs banned faster than I could say "redirect." Some guys still run it but it's a total minefield now.

Nah I gotta disagree, just cuz some tool exists doesn't mean it's worth throwing time at pop traffic again. Honestly, if you want less headache and better control, maybe try out a tool like Voluum or even some legit cloaking scripts instead of jumping back into splash pages and redirects that probably got flagged half the time. Worth testing? Maybe, but I'd be way more cautious now and not just rely on some plugin to make it easy.

Been doing this 3 years and honestly I gotta ask, how clean can you really keep pop traffic? Seems like a ticking time bomb with all the IP bans and ad network crackdown, no?

just my 2 cents, pop and redirect traffic still work but got harder to monetize with stricter ad policies and blockers, I'd say around 40% drop in effectiveness over the last 2 years.

bruh, I disagree, in my experience pop/redirect traffic actually kinda stayed stable if you know how to keep it legit. blockers hit but not as bad as ppl say if you focus on good geo and legit sources. maybe you just got hit harder or your niche got affected.

quick thought: I think you can still get decent pop/redirect traffic results if you focus on legit traffic sources and keep your geo targeting tight. smh, it's all about quality over quantity now. ymmv, but I'd say don't ignore it just yet.

tbh careful with pop/redirect traffic, it's still alive but not like it used to be. If you keep your sources legit, geo tight, and avoid shady networks, you can still squeeze some value out of it. But don't expect the old glory days, it's more of a niche play now.
