just been looking at backlink data and honestly there's a huge issue. so many people just start outreach without even glancing at serp comp. tested like 50 niches real quick and saw 70% of links from crappy pbns or guest posts did nothing after a month. numbers don't lie right? why waste time on links that won't rank, especially when your competitors are already grabbing spots on high authority pages with traffic. gotta do a quick serp scrape before you reach out now - it's basically a filter so you don't burn resources on dead ends or risk a penalty. imo skipping this is such a rookie move and i still see tons doing it. don't be that guy
 
Actually saw this too, spent a whole day wasting time on guest post links that never moved the needle. crazy how many people jump into outreach without even a quick SERP check, lol. just makes me laugh sometimes how basic it is but still so many miss it. I swear it's like everyone wants to skip the obvious steps, smh.
 
yo did u ever do a full serp scrape and still see those links tank after a month? feels like some niches just need a different approach tbh.
 
Been there, done that. sometimes I find even after a quick scrape, those links still tank fast. guess some niches are just trash for that kinda stuff, you gotta test and see if they stick or not. quick check helps but doesn't fix everything.
 
60% of the time, even after doing a quick SERP scrape, those links still don't hold up. Do you guys think a deeper analysis like backlink profile quality or anchor text relevance actually makes a difference? or is it just a crapshoot once you get past the SERP?
 
I used to skip SERP analysis too till I wasted weeks building links on dead pages smh. once I started doing quick scrapes, my win rate shot up. how many times do you think your outreach was wasted on low-value pages before?
 
Honestly, I'd say at least 60% of my outreach efforts went to pages that never amounted to anything. Once I started doing that quick SERP check, the waste dropped a lot. It's crazy how many links seem promising but turn out dead or just not worth it
 
careful with that mindset, rn a lot of folks just jump on links without checking if they even have a shot to rank. sometimes a high authority page ain't worth the effort if it's not relevant or

thanks guys, appreciate the insights. yeah some niches just bounce back quick, gotta stay flexible. i think quick serp scrape is just a filter, not a magic fix, but it saves a lot of headache. still gotta test and watch how those links perform over time.
 
been doing this 3 years and I swear those traps are sneaky. usually spot em when I see a bunch of irrelevant or overly competitive sites ranking high, or when the snippet looks weirdly optimized but nothing really matches the intent. also, if the SERP is packed with ads or featured snippets, I get sus. always double check the real authority of sites in the top 10 before I build links.
 
Last month I got caught by one of those trap pages, thought it was legit till I checked the snippets and saw they were using some sneaky cloaking. Smh, always double-check the snippet's relevance and the authority of the site ranking high
