Native Ads - Taboola vs Outbrain, which one's the better gamble?

Man I gotta vent a little here. Been messing around with native ads for a while now and honestly I'm stuck between Taboola and Outbrain. Both seem like they should be the kings of native but man it's like playing Russian roulette sometimes. Taboola hits me with good cpm but their approval process is a nightmare, takes forever and sometimes I get rejected without even knowing why. Outbrain on the other hand is a little more picky but their targeting feels tighter and I've seen better ctrs from them. But then again, their payouts can be all over the place and they hold your payments like it's some kind of prize. Lately I've been flipping coins on which to focus more on and my results are all over the place. Anyone here got a solid take on which one actually delivers consistent results or is it just ymmv? I swear it's like rolling dice every time I try to scale. Lmao.

yo fam, honestly I dabbled with both and same story, sometimes they just feel like roulette. I found that out real quick after messing with both for a while, so I started testing more granular campaigns and broke down my targetings to see what sticks. kinda lowkey stopped relying on just one platform, tbh.

honestly yeah same here, switched to testing multiple networks now, can't put all eggs in one basket with this native stuff. keeps it less stressful and more predictable somehow

just my 2 cents, maybe stop flipping coins and start split testing with real data on both. native ads are like that, always a gamble but you gotta find the pattern. bruh, consistency is the myth here.

been doing this 3 years and ngl, that quote hits hard lol. sometimes it's just luck with native, I saw CTRs jump 30% with Outbrain one week and tank the next. gotta keep testing and adjusting, not just flipping coins lmao

Been 6 years rn, and I still see 70% of native is trial and error, no real formula. CTR can swing 20-50% week to week, so yeah, luck's part of it.

Yo, appreciate all the tips, fam. Split testing sounds like the way to go, I'll start doing that more instead of just guessing lol. Gotta find that pattern, for real. Thanks again, y'all, this helps a lot. Stay winning!

just my 2 cents, both can work depending on the niche and targeting but honestly I lean more towards Outbrain for better control over placements. Taboola's got bigger reach but can be trickier with strict policies. ymmv tho, test both and see which performs better for your offers.

80% of my budget is on Outbrain and it's been more predictable but Taboola hits bigger sometimes but more chaos.

disagree, I actually think Taboola can outperform Outbrain if you optimize right. had better luck with cheaper CPCs and more aggressive testing there. Outbrain's more stable but I wouldn't count out Taboola's upside

ok so haha, native ads are like dating apps, gotta try both and see who clicks better. I started with Outbrain cus it's kinda safe and predictable but honestly, I had some wild rides on Taboola when I tested different angles. Found that with tight targeting and aggressive tweaks, Taboola can actually outperform Outbrain sometimes, especially when I'm chasing those cheap CPCs. So yeah, I think it's kinda a luck of the draw but also about how u play it.

ok so been doing this 3 years and found that splitting test creatives between both platforms helps. one might be a better fit for certain niches, so dont rely on just one. always be ready to shift budget quick

yep exactly, gotta test both but also focus on landing pages and targeting. Sometimes the traffic source doesn't matter if your funnel sucks. Split your landing pages and see which converts best on each platform

Start split testing both and track CTR and eCPM numbers - Taboola tends to hit higher on news niches while Outbrain wins more in finance, so pick based on your niche's data.

bruh, honestly i think both are kinda like roulette, sometimes one hits better but u never really know till u test and keep an eye on the data, ymmv tho.
