hey looking for a VPN that's actually fast when you're overseas. gotta stream US netflix and hulu, maybe some sports sites too. paid or free doesn't matter to me but i need decent speed and solid privacy. tried a few already but they all slow down like dial-up or just drop constantly. anyone test the newer ones lately? thinking about nord express surfshark but wanna know real speeds from users and if streaming is easy with them

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with Nord, Express, or Surfshark if speed is your main concern. They all promise fast but usually fall short especially when streaming US content abroad. I've tested a bunch and the only one that consistently delivers decent speeds for streaming is IPVanish but even then it's hit or miss depending on your location. Better to go with a VPN that's known for solid speeds and has good

Yup, I get where you're coming from, but I actually get decent speeds with Surfshark for streaming US stuff, even abroad. It's not perfect, but I've had better luck than with some other VPNs. Just gotta test a few servers sometimes. Speed is kinda variable but not dial-up bad, ngl.

, test the free trials if you can. streaming with VPNs is hit or miss depending on your location and ISP. afaik, Surfshark usually has decent speeds for streaming but YMMV.

bruh, speed depends so much on your ISP and location, not just the VPN. dont buy into the hype about premium VPNs always being fast. try a bunch of free trials, see what actually works in your area. most stream VPNs are just ok at best lol

nah speed is mostly about your ISP and how they handle VPN traffic, not just the VPN itself. ive seen some newer VPNs improve speeds but it's still kinda hit or miss depending on where you at. wanna test a few with free trials before dropping cash.

Been doing this 3 years and honestly, newer VPNs like Proton VPN's paid options have surprised me with better speeds lately. I wouldn't ignore them just cuz they're new, they've been working decently for streaming and privacy. Give their paid plan a shot, rn they're pretty solid in my experience.

Careful with VPNs claiming they're the best rn, most are just hype and slow down your connection more than they help.

bruh I tried a few and honestly some slow as hell. ended up sticking with one that's not even advertised as the fastest but it's been solid for streaming and browsing w/o crazy lag. ymmv but sometimes the cheaper options work better.

I once thought the "fastest" VPN would be the best for travel but ended up getting flagged on some sites cause of the VPN IPs. Now I just pick whatever's decent enough and hope for the best. ymmv

Last month i tried a VPN claiming to be the fastest for travel and honestly it was garbage, kept disconnecting and lagging so much I just gave up and went back to my old one that's not even hyped up. Sometimes the hype just doesn't match real world. ymmv but don't buy into the "fastest" hype too much.

yep exactly, always switch to a server in the country you wanna access before hitting the content. saves ya from lag and hassle

Nah I kinda disagree, I've used VPNs that claim to be super fast but still get laggy. Sometimes switching servers in the same country helps but other times it's just slow overall. Gotta test a few to find the sweet spot.

Most folks forget that VPN protocol choice makes a huge difference in speed especially when traveling. Switching from OpenVPN to WireGuard or IKEv2 can often give you that extra speed boost you need for streaming and browsing w/o lag. ymmv but it's a quick setting change worth trying before switching servers.

i mean, yeah but why waste so much time testing if you can pick a good one from the start? most VPNs list speed results, just pick the fastest one and save hassle.

disagree a bit, I think a lot of VPNs still slow down even if they claim to be fast on paper. I've found that real-world tests and sticking with the protocols that work best for your device are key. Anyone else notice some VPNs just can't keep up no matter what?

honestly bruh, honestly I've used some VPNs that claim to be fast but still lag like hell rn. think most of the hype is just marketing, gotta test em out yourself or stick to what's proven to work for your device.

careful with just trusting speed tests, sometimes the VPN that looks fastest on paper isn't best in real-world use, gotta test on your device.

53% of people I know complain about VPN lag when traveling, I swear one time I tried a random VPN and it was unusable. ever had a VPN so bad it made you wanna give up?

bruh, honestly travel VPNs are a pain sometimes, i've been stuck with ones that just throttle everything or drop connection mid-stream, so frustrating. the real trick is testing a few on your actual device and seeing which one holds up for speed and stability, don't just trust the hype or speed tests. trust me, you'll wanna scream if your VPN craps out when you need it most. stay vigilant fam. peace out!
