Community links - what a joke now

ok so man, I gotta vent about this community link building nonsense. Used to be you could drop some comments on forums, get a few backlinks, and call it a day. Now? it's all about trying to game the system with outreach emails, PBNs, and god knows what else. I spent a week hitting forums, dropping legit comments, and what do I get? nada. No clicks, no juice, just wasted time. And don't even get me started on the outreach crap. Sending hundreds of emails, only to get ghosted or flagged as spam. Tried to keep it white hat, but honestly, it feels like everyone's just sick of the spammy tactics. Back in the day, a little comment here, a forum signature there, and boom, backlinks. Now? it's a full-time job just to scrape some semi-relevant links that don't hurt more than help. I swear I lost money on this last campaign. Maybe I'm just bad at it now, or maybe forums really are dead, I dunno. Just frustrating to see all this effort go nowhere and everyone pushing some 'new' shiny method that's probably just the same old spam with a fresh coat of paint.

Yeah I feel ya, like 70% of my forum efforts are dead ends now, just ghosted or flagged. I've seen a tiny bump in CTR when I do legit comments but it's so minimal it's not worth the time. Seems like everyone just chasing quick wins with spammy stuff, lol. Keep grinding though, ymmv. Never give up!

Ever try focusing on niche forums with less spammy traffic? Sometimes those small, less crowded communities can actually give you a decent shot at legit links without all the noise. ymmv but it's a low-effort way to get some actual engagement.

spot on, I did the same thing once, spent a whole day just commenting on random forums, got maybe 2 clicks, felt like I wasted half my week for nothing.

last month I spent a week just posting on forums, same deal, got nada. The game feels totally changed now, like even legit comments don't matter anymore. Waste of time honestly.

niche forums can work but even then it's a grind and sometimes dead too, people act like it's a magic fix but it's still just a long shot.

Been doing this 14 years, I spent a week hitting forums, dropping legit comments and what do I get? Usually a few crappy clicks, maybe some impressions but nothing game-changing. It's all just

Actually, I think that line is wrong, it's not the emails that get flagged, it's the spammy tactics. Sending hundreds of emails is just spammy, legit outreach is way different.

I've done this for about 9 years and honestly, I remember a time when just dropping a comment and a signature could get ya a handful of legit backlinks. Think I spent a week doing that once, got maybe a few clicks, a handful of impressions, but no traffic boost or sales. It's always been a grind, ymmv, but I think folks forget that old school stuff is still just a shot in the dark. You think some niches are dead? I swear, some forums are just ghost towns now, barely any activity.

25% of forums still get you some clicks if you pick the right ones, but do you really think that old school method was ever sustainable or worth the grind? maybe it was just easier cuz nobody cared about spam back then?

Been doing this 3 years and honestly, community links just seem like dead weight sometimes. My tip? Instead of dumping a bunch of links, focus on creating really good, shareable content that naturally attracts clicks. Less spam, more value, always.

Community links - what a joke now, huh? I've seen this shift firsthand, used to get decent traffic from them but now it's like everyone just dumps a link and hopes for the best. I remember back in the day when people actually engaged, now it's just spam. Lol

Honestly, I think that only works if ur content is actually worth sharing. I've seen folks churn out fluff just to get links out and wonder why they get no traffic. For me, community links still got potential if u put in real effort, not just spammy crap.

disagree a bit. community links can still work if u put in real effort. just dumping links and hoping for traffic ain't gonna cut it anymore. gotta build legit relationships or content that ppl wanna share.

community links now? lol more like community spam now lol. but if u wanna actually make it work, try using a tool like aqa for better outreach, helped me get real engagement instead of just throwing links out there.

Thanks for the replies, bruh. Yeah, content quality is king, no doubt. If your stuff ain't shareable or valuable, community links are just noise. Keep it real and focus on real value, that's what gets traffic now.
