yeah i keep seeing people use free proxies and honestly its just a bad idea. theyre so slow and sketchy, half of them are already blacklisted. if you actually care about scraping or not getting caught, paying for real proxies is obvious. free ones come from weird places, you have no clue who runs them. plus they get flagged instantly and ruin everything. if you wanna save a couple bucks and risk your whole setup getting banned, thats on you i guess. but from what ive seen free proxies are a total time sink and can mess things up worse.

plus they get flagged instantly and ruin everything, fr, i've seen it happen. one time i used some free proxies for a quick scrape, and bam, everything was blacklisted within minutes. it's like playing with fire, better just spend the few bucks on legit proxies or you'll waste way more time fixing stuff down the line. anyone else had their setup totally busted cuz of free proxies?

Haha, free proxies? One time I tried to save a few bucks and used some sketchy free ones. Ended up getting blocked so fast I thought I was on a timer. Waste of time and a headache I don't need.

Haha, classic move, tried to save a buck and paid for it lol. I swear, free proxies are like that one friend who's always late and never reliable. Just not worth the headache in the long run.

Actually, it's not just about blacklisting, u should also mention that many free proxies are actually open relays or get hacked easily. You wanna risk your IPs or data on some random free proxy? A paid proxy might cost more but at least u get some kinda guarantee it's not just someone using ur data to scrape u back.

Been doing this 12 years and I've seen plenty of folks burn time and IPs chasing free proxies that are barely worth the headache. YMMV but I'd rather drop some cash on legit proxies than waste days troubleshooting sketchy ones.

Disagree, I've been doing this 8 years and I actually had good luck with some free proxies early on, especially if you pick well-known free sources and test constantly. ymmv but not all free proxies are bad if you know what to look for and rotate smart. paying is safer, sure, but not always necessary if you're smart about it.

bruh, exactly. best bet is to test proxies before u commit, like run a quick check to see if they're live and not blacklisted. saves mad time in the long run

Careful with free proxies, bruh, they're usually slow, blocked, or just plain risky. No point in risking your stuff just to save a few bucks.

if you gotta go free at least use some kind of rotating proxy list or you'll get banned so quick it's not even funny, and don't forget to test them first cuz most of em are dead or crawling with spammers.

always test free proxies first before using them for scraping, most of them are trash or dead. Using unreliable proxies kills your ROI quick. Better to spend a few bucks on legit providers.

ngl do you think some free proxies might work for really small projects or just testing? I mean, ymmv and sometimes they might be enough if you know what you're doing.

man if you're gonna use free proxies, always make sure to rotate them constantly and set up some kind of proxy check script. most of them die or get flagged in like 2 mins anyway so why even bother if you don't automate that part?

Ever tried setting up a paid proxy service with a low tier plan? Sometimes it's better than free and you can get better uptime and speed for scraping.

Most free proxies are already flagged or blacklisted, so a good tip is to always test proxies before heavy scraping use a quick check script to see if they're live and not flagged. Otherwise, you're just wasting time chasing dead ends.

dude, you really think any free proxy is gonna save ur ass long term? how many times u had to switch proxies fr it to be worth anything? and do u even bother testing before u start scraping or just wing it?
